i pin to 2 boards, so 50 per board.
but i am going to start pinning less, probably about 25 per board per day.

Got it, thanks. I have around 10 boards, so its better to just focus on one or two niches with boards and post only there?

it depends on what you want to accomplish.
i market in only one niche, and all of my main boards are in this niche.
it's just the niche that i got started in, so my following grew in that specific area.
 
What is the best way to increase the number of followers in pinterest. I am trying since 3 months, hardly getting any followers.

Follow other people and some of them will follow you back. Repeat this process every day and unfollow those who haven't followed you back. Also join some shared boards and pin your best pictures there.
 
When you follow a person you follow all her boards or just one?
 
Can someone please invite me to any food boards they are in? I am in over 100 boards and can exchange. Please message me.
 
Also, I have a real food blog and would not mind if you guys use my images as long as you link the images to the blog. So its a win-win situation.
 
I have followed 1000 profiles (for 3 days) and I have 64 followers back from them. So the bulk following method is ~6% efficient. I stopped following for security reasons for 1-2 days, still getting followers. Tomorrow I will delete those that dont follow me back and will start bulk follow again. Pinterest notifications are not working fine for me. I though I am not getting any progress but when I went to pinterest analytics I had repins and stuff... So make your account business and use the analytics to have best view for your campaign.

I've been working on Pinterest for a while but dropped off recently and want to get back in the game. I *was* doing following and it was going great. I followed huge numbers (not sure why you guys get banned so low... I followed 40k+ in a week w/o ban) but I am afraid to do that with my account again after reading what is going on here. I do have a couple questions though.

1) What is the best software to have for Pinterest at the moment? I had n1nj4p1nner and it's been really flaky for a while imho - hard to get it to work consistently. IS there a good software you guys could recommend that would allow multi-threading/proxies/multiple accounts/following/unfollowing? That's what's preventing me from scaling up. I only get 100+ visitors a day at the moment from 1 account but I see no reason why I shouldn't get more with 10 accounts. Any recommendations?

2) Where the heck do you get your images, and how do you link them to your web page? Do you just upload a million images on your blogs and pin those steadily?

I've been using Pinblaster for the last month and it works really well. I've used it to follow and repin for multiple accounts with proxies.

I get over 60k visitors a day from Pinterest and I do it with just 5 accounts. My best advice is that you simply use a small number of accounts manually and treat them like they are real people. Be creative, get yourself invited to some big boards. That is the key.
 
Where do you guys get images for your sites? And do you check for copyrights? It might be a problem for adsense users...
