Hmm. It's an interesting thread. I am new to the Pinterest game, started it barely a month ago. Quick note about my strategy that has seemed to work...
1) Make your money page a Pinterest clone site. Make it look as much like pinterest as possible
2) Absolutely NO redirects or cloaking. You won't need ANY of it with this method
3) Use PinBlaster. I has a LOT of options other than just the multi-account shotgun method. I only have ONE Pinterest account. Barely a month old. Brand new. I have received NO warnings. No copyright issues, no bans, etc. And I Pin >1,000 pins per day, sometimes more. They key is ... I do not FOLLOW anyone. I just let my stuff trickle out there and let follows come to me.
4) Go on Fiverr and get a couple of custom plugins written for WordPress. They key here is you need those plugins to receive any posts you are sending from PinBlaster, then post on their individual POST URLs (obviously), then insert Adsense code above and below, then use the Pinterest API to post it as a UNIQUE picture to Pinterest with its own UNIQUE URL on your site
5) Make sure you verify your site with Pinterest. Host it on your own domain you have control over. Pinterest loves that.
6) Watermark EVERY SINGLE PICTURE you send with your official domain/logo lock. Make it look PRO. Not cheesey. Make it a vertical strip on the right like 9gag does it, but with a logo somewhere. Even make it a little too small to read. Trust me. It won't matter.
7) Make sure to run your batch watermarking program on EVERYTHING you scrape, whether off of pinterest or wherever. TSR Watermark is free. Use it. It does very weel and takes about 25 seconds to surgically watermark ~1,000 images
8) Occasionally, and FROM A MOBILE DEVICE login to your account daily and repin 5-10 images in your niche organically. No comments needed.
9) If Pinterest does contact you, take an aggressive whitehat attitude. Present your money site as a like-minded, inspirational / educational portal for people who need help find certain imagery in that niche. Do not back away from ANYTHING on your site. Acknowledge pinning large quantities per day using API automation. Make sure you VERIFY your site with them with a verification file! Let them know that every single image you have there will be pinned on pinterest because your IT department set it up that way. Do NOT be afraid of them! They will latch on to anything weak you say in an email and will ban your ass so quickly it will make your head spin.
10) Do NOT follow ANYONE. buy followers on PinWoot or a trsuted Fiverr vendor if you want to, in my experience, doesn't really help that much persay.
11) Post to group boards, but NOT with spam. Only good quality shots that are relevant. Trust me. That will get the job done easily.
That's it. Pin like crazy at that point. 1,000/day is what I am doing. No worries. You can even scrape other photos FROM Pinterest and feed them back INTO Pinterest watermarked, AS LONG AS THEY SHOW UP IN THEIR OWN UNIQUE URL ON YOUR OWN VERIFIED MONEY PAGE WITH YOUR WATERMARK. You see at that point, I don't think Pinterest CAN issue a copyright warning, because they won;t know whose picture it really is, and you got a unique URL, verified site, and a matermark on yours. Only a directed copyright claim would be respected and those are RARE.
I am less than a month in. I have only 50 followers total. I make $40/day on Adsense. Go figure.
UPDATE! Sorry! I forgot,... Use hashtags! Go to Tumblr and see what hastags are used there for your keywords, and use the same ones on Pinterest. There is a difference in some cases, and using the slightly varied ones brings in better mroe unique traffic I have found. Also, use AT LEAST three hashtags in each post. All different (they can be the same 3 for 1000 posts obviously).
that's it!
Great method/Tutorial, I also have pinblaster, its a pretty sick and easy bot to use. I haven't been pinning but instead i repin instead, i'll try out the pingrabber
