Blue or not, you are one of the best reasons why BHW is awesome.

Anyway, awhile back I put a hold on a project because when I posted the first articles, it indexed it several times, in the tags, categories (i think) etc. and I couldn't decide if it was a good thing or a bad thing. Since I have several other projects anyway, I put it on hold until I have found the answers.

I've read several guides here posted by reputable members. They were good. Nope. They were great. But at the back of my mind, I felt something was missing. After reading your post, It felt like a I've found most of the missing pieces of my little jigsaw puzzle. I still have some questions, but for now, I can proceed with more confidence in what I'm doing. Thank you.

Now back to the drawing boards for me.

What this guy said! As I was scrolling I was thinking of my reply, and then I read it!

Is there any G penalization if a site is not updated with new articles for a period of time?

But again, thank you for the time you took to write the above information :)

In general, it doesn't matter.

There are times when some new piece of information happens, and Google trends notices an increased interest in a keyword -- and when that happens, Google gives preference for freshly written posts.

In evergreen topics, it doesn't matter at all in my opinion. In fact, the older a post gets, the better it ranks.

Absolutely incredible guide. Its very obvious you out a lot of time and effort into this. I got about 1/4 the way through and I'm in aw. Bookmarking for reading tomorrow. Thanks a million!

Do you buy your articles from a service?

Or

Do you buy your authority sites from a service?

Amazing guide. This is something that I want to look into over the next year, building a high quality authority site. Writing content on it, spending quality time on it. BOOKMARKED!

Buy authority sites from a service? You mean buy the expired domains from a service? Yeah I do ... I'll be writing a post all about it. I buy domains for my own network and I've worked with several SEO services who buy expired domains. That's not something I can easily explain in this response, I'll be writing a full 5000ish word post about it soon enough.

For my own personal projects I write my own articles, and I write my own tier 1. But I've managed blog networks and I hire out content too -- I don't prefer doing that though. I've also worked with SEO companies who have auto generated their blog content -- so I've got a lot of experience with it, with both aged domains and freshly bought domains.

Writing comes easy enough for me, the original post was 5000 words and it probably took me 2 hours to type it up. A properly made authority site is valuable enough to do it myself -- that way I know its being done right and it'll be a money source for years (or flip it for many thousands).

Just stay tuned, my next post will be about web2.0s and then I'll explain about blog networks after that.

Gone into great detail there OP. Going to take a few of those guides and let my VA take a look. Thanks!

Just finished reading this. I definitely have to audit some of my websites now. I think the Yoast keyword plugin for Wordpress has my keyword density inflated, checking that out soon. I'm looking forward to your other posts.

That's some solid advice here.. Great

You didn't mentioned what you do for your tier 2...?

I will, hehe. Complete guide coming up soon. Web2.0s in all their glory ... when to use GSA/Nohands ... private blog networks. Writing it all down and its a huge guide so this one might take a couple days.

I will wait for it.. :-D

I wonder if this'll work with a newly built site that's only a 2 article MNS. I bought it here and the seller over optimized it, which as a newbie i might do the same.

Since reading your guide i've gone to bring it down to less than 2% and will see if it will appear on search at all.

The writing advice is perfect for micro-niche sites. With a 2 page site, it should be easy to fix and back in the SERPs within 48 hours of correction.

thanks a lot for sharing the guide. I am using lots of same things in my authority site but you gave some new tips! thanks a lot again.

Excellent guide phpbuilt!

I actually got started in SEO following and reading all the posts from a few members and you were one of the people I've followed since the start.

I have a question you. Does the over optimization affect the entire site or just the page that's overoptimized? I have one site that won't rank even for it's own title (unless I use quotes) and I haven't been able to figure out why. It's a brand name domain (tried moving to a new domain but same results), roughly 35 pages of unique content, ordered about 10 real guest post links for it.

The only thing I can think of is that I might have overused internal links (although I vary up the internal anchor text too). This is the only site I've built this way and the first time I've encountered this issue (the site was created just to test Leith's style of siloing).

This is a great guide phpbuilt I always wondered if my site was over optimized but now I'm sure of it, I made some changes to it and will see if this helps it in rankings any. I figured I was penalized because I was ranking within the top 100 for a couple of days then the rankings just dropped off. So we'll see.

I can't wait to see your post on web 2.0! Seriously Thanks for this!
