phpBB issues

I am trying to setup a forum using phpBB and I have been trying to add categories in the admin section and for some reason it doesnt not appear on the site.

I would like for someone who has used phpBB to help me...

Have you got a "Hidden" button ticked or something?

Also, with Phpbb3 you need to add permissions to the forums having created them otherwise they won't show up.

ACP > Permissions > Forum Permissions > (Select your forums) > Add Groups.
 
Thanks for the quick reply... I'm going to do what you recommended and see if that makes a difference

I have another issue if you can kindly help. I want people to see the forum categories without registering. Right now only people who have registered can see the forums, what settings should I change to allow anyone to see the forum categories but need to register to see the content in the forum categories?

Is this possible to see forums without registration? I also want to know because I did not find any forum which allow anyone to see without registration.
