If you already have an account connected to your Canadian Bank account you should be able to put in your phone number no matter where it's based.
My paypal is Canadian but my phone number isn't. But it's my real phone number.
Don't think it's an issue they just use it to verify your ID afaik.

Yeah I do, I bought my account like 1 year ago, but the number linked to it is from the guy I bought it from. How did I know? Recently I logged in onto another computer and it asked for a phone verification code, luckily I still had the guy in my contacts, so he helped me out however, I don't feel comfortable now because this means he could easily take his PayPal account back? What number do you have linked on it?

I meant like, where is your phone number based? From what I gathered you seems like your number isn't Canadian? Correct me if I am wrong.
P.S. Freetone looks interesting, but does it work on PayPal? Hmm.

Im not sure if it will work with paypal, i think you need real number. You can give it a try

It's a US number. A couple of times they had to call me when I was working with their support, they also sent a couple of sms codes at various times. I think you can put any number that reaches you direct but I may be wrong. They have my bank verified and that's what counts I guess and the phone number is used mainly as a verification so PayPal protects their clients who purchase from you.

I see. I have a British phone number so I am not sure if that will work.
Hmm, since I currently already have a phone number on there, I could just add the Freetone number and test it out? Without removing the current phone number linked to that PayPal? And if it works, I will remove the number that is linked? Is that a good idea. I mean the account hasn't had any issues at all, so if I was to add my UK number and had issues it wouldn't be ideal for my business.

Don't complicate the future and add potential risk to your business. Use your legitimate phone number if you're legitimate business. Makes no sense to have someone else's phone number associated with your account unless it ain't legit on which case it doesn't matter because the hammer eventually falls
At this point, don't try anything. When it's daylight in the UK, just call Paypal and explain your situation. Anything to do with banking and money you should never try "here goes nothing" solutions.
Thanks, I guess I will try that. I just think its weird that they would allow a British phone number to work on a Canadian PayPal? Wouldn't they ask questions?
It a bit hard for me to call since I bought the PayPal from someone else XD (it won't be "him" talking)

People move and change their phone numbers. People leave the country and change numbers. Why would PayPal ask questions? If they do just do some acting on the phone. Better they have your phone number as you now own the account.
