Personalized Cold Emails At Scale - Opinion Needed

Hi everyone,

After spending about 90 days figuring things out and getting burned by numerous "developers", last year I finally finished an amazing tool that stacks AI on top of AI be able to generate personalized cold emails at scale.

I used Clay in the past but it was super expensive for what I needed (volume) so this forced me to develop my own.

The result? I am now able to enter thousands of leads from Apollo/Instantly into a google sheet and have it scrape the leads website and make the emails sound like a human wrote it.

I have 2 clients in the finance industry that lend money to other businesses but no matter how hard you try, the business either needs money or they don't.

We charge by the number of appointments we're able to generate. The numbers aren't impressive but I don't think it's the tool's fault.

Here's my question: I am looking for a "starving crowd" as Hormozi puts it. This is who GPT thinks I should be targeting with this tool:


1️⃣ B2B Sales Agencies & SDR Teams (Outsourced Sales)

2️⃣ Business Loan Brokers & Alternative Lenders

3️⃣ Recruiting & Headhunting Firms

4️⃣ M&A Firms & Business Brokers

5️⃣ High-Ticket Consulting & Coaching Programs ($5K-$100K Offers)

6️⃣ Agencies Selling High-Ticket B2B Services (SEO, PPC, Web Dev, Branding)

My 2 clients are in the finance side of lending money as mentioned and I don't think more clever copy would make someone want to borrow huge sums of money.

Any other ideas? I was also thinking of licensing it out for say $1k/month + they pay all others fees associated with it.

What is your current model ? Do you have multiple tools to handle all those or everything under one platform ?

Hi @xcodes - thanks for the reply. The current model is as such:

- Onboarding fee to cover the card costs for setup + profit. This includes new domains & email setup. Usually we charge $3500.

- From there it's pay per appointment or performance.

- We're charging our 2 clients $200 & $300 per set appointment that shows up.

Notable challenges on their end:

- Low trust factor with the clients that show up on a call from a cold email

- We set it up and pass it off to them. But because it's difficult to build trust over email, it's really up to them to provide value in terms of adding them to their newsletters or show that they're the company to do business with

- These are a few sticking points from my clients POV

Our Challenges:

Same as above but with us I am going to be adding everyone I ever spoke with to a newsletter I am putting together.

I am trying to become an authority in this and make it super relatable because I had hired an email marketing agency to help ME get apts for my SEO agency and they failed miserably.

This is what twisted my arm and forced me personally to set this whole thing up - Necessity really is the mother of invention!

This part takes time, but focusing on the below parts will change the customer's perspective overtime.
1) Professional Landing page or Website
2) Dedicated Help Desk
3) Phone and Live Chat support
4) Proper Client tracking panel to see progress

did you use amplify for scraping info and make com for personalization>?

try to change offer, nothing wrong with it

i do generic ui ux design, but give lead magnet with tool that help client get leads and sell design on a call

what's you reply rate btw?

No I did not use those. I have a code that my developers put together but its mostly no-code. It's using a bunch of different AI tools stacked on top of one another. It's pretty amazing (to me at least).

Reply rate is not good.

50% of my emails get unopened and our deliverability is only 50%. To me that is bad but I asked a group and they said this is good/decent.

Subj line: Quick Question, Company name, Hi First Name, Thoughts First Name?

Tested all of these out

Reply rate is not good.

if you are just testing, try buy instantly mails DFY (Done for you)
Cause 50% is bad...
 
i mean if u have delivery 50% it means you have a problem or with quality of list or quality of mails(set up, warming)

i would buy mails DFY (Middle option), it's. actually pretty cheap}
and try to use neverbounce for your leads to check shitty not delivarable mails.

I wouldn't say the open rate is bad like the other guy above said but are you still tracking openers - track only replies.

What are you using to send? Instantly? Try other platforms as well. Are you doing Hotmail or Gmail?

Apollo's leads are the bottom of the barrel, I would suggest to add a list cleaner before sending them out.

Also, regarding trust - you need to add a lot of social proof and pre-qualify them. I would send them a personalized video ("Here's what we can do for you, Steven" with a white dude in his 50s ready to throw money at them... well, you get it :D). The follow up with a link to landing page with "book call" cta and a lot of social proofs (like "our clients").

Try the other classic, CAN-SPAM Act compliant, put something that relates to the business (lending/borrowing) into the subject. It's kinda a pre-qualifying event.

Since you said you have the AI ready to create personalized email text based on the website of the lead - did you check if the text is actually not the "oh another chatgpt generated spam message"? I have a lot of problems with that, the text is good but still detectable as ai by high IQ individuals. Needs a lot of prompt fine tuning.

Try selling it on BHW. There can be good conversions here also as many trying their lucknow with email sales.

"Best Opener" -> Based on the replies you get or openings of your email?

If I don't put a subject related to content my sales rate suffer.

Within the payday loan industry - we send about 100,000 emails a day but conversion is quite low. Have you attempted the industry? Willing to shoot the shit and see what sticks.
