Hey Aspkin: Do you think .info domain 1on1 (no subdomains) are going do better than "free co.cc subdomains"?

Or is it going to be the same crap?

I would take the $.89 .info's just like a jump starter, and when the wheel start movin' I am gonna pass onto .com's.

I recommend .info over co.cc domains.

And once you have a domain name established.. it's not a good idea to drop it and go for a .com or whatever domain name. Once you have a domain name, stick to it.

In the long run .com domain names are better then .info domain names, but .info domain names are still your own domain names, that you can have as long as you want, it won't get deleted without your notice, they're cheap and you can have as many as you want. Overall I don't recommend them for a few reasons mentioned in the eBook, but in your case I do.

More on co.cc domains...

From http://www.co.cc/faq/faq.php#p2

Are there any cases my domain is deleted? Yes, if you violate our rules. We do not redirect illegal/ spam/ adult site. If a domain has these contents, it will be suspended.

Next, we encourage user to have only one account for free. Which means, having a multiple account is a violation of our regulation. Finally, If your site has been rejected by co.cc, it may not a valid url or your redirected site isn't a right site for free domain. Revocation of a registration would usually be done regularly and automatically without notice. You can see the details at Terms of Service.

.com > .info > co.cc

That's how I feel about it at least.

Hey Shylesson can you elaborate that please?

My humble opinion is that your example "if you have 1k people searching for purple widgets and 1 mil searching for red widgets and have to divide that traffic across 10 sites" is not valid, because you should divide that traffic among 300,000 sites, not the original 10 sites!!

I really don't get it and can't find sense to it...

According to that theory I could name an autoblog "KiWeightLoss.com" or similar with $$ success?

No niche research, no keyphrases research, no Market Samurai or Micro Niche Finder required anymore?

It is necessary to clear that up because many people are going to be misleaded and confused.
Thanxxx

Hey Aspkin, I would like to know your opinion in this controversy!

Hey Aspkin, I would like to know your opinion in this controversy!

You mean whether to target competitive broad niches or not?

It's better and easier to target smaller niches really. But you can still go after the big fish as long as you do proper keyword research beforehand. What you want are those low competition, high traffic keywords that with good keyword research you should be able to find, even in a competitive niche.

I don't recommend building autoblogs blind and that's why I have a whole section on market and keyword research in AutoBlogBook that anyone can understand. :)

I'm not sure what EH said about selecting a niche, I skimmed through his eBook a few weeks back but didn't get to that part I guess.

If that's not your question, let me know. :)

@kingbred: Dude, change your url to download, I got your ebook without paying....

We have two heavyweights and a controversy on market/niche research and competition.

On one hand we have Aspkin and his orthodox approach through niche/keyphrases research looking for high search amount with low competition, keyphrase in domains and the like.

On the other hand we have EH's new approach :"...I will only ever create autoblogs in "active" markets - a market full of activity; thousands of
daily searches, loads of ads, plenty of forums etc. Basically, a market with a lot of traffic
around - go for the biggest you can find and don't worry about competition (in fact, the
more competition the better!).

You want to make sure there's a lot of competition in a particular market - usually a good
indicator as to how active a market is."

"Don't waste your time trying to find "keyword rich" domains. Again, this may sound
counter-intuitive. A name like "DesignRio.com" is far better than
"TutorialsOnHowToUsePhotoshopBlog.com" (obviously that's exaggerated but hopefully
you get the point). When choosing my domain, I take my main keyword and add a web 2.0
catchy suffix or prefix to it."

This last approach lacks theoretic fundamentals or at least I can't understand its mathematical support since EH discards the negative incidence of a huge competition in the final equation!.

Both approaches are so radically opposite that I don't know what to do anymore.

Mate you are over analyzing the example. The example is merely to show that a more competitive term does not mean that you cannot get traffic off it, but rather that you have a greater chance BECAUSE there is more searches being done for it. Of course you can create as many sites as you like, but I was answering to your concern over traffic. You will get traffic on a highly competitive. Guaranteed. How much is up to you: your efforts. If you let it sit, it will get some on it's own, but I have found it varies niche to niche and it's easier to get steady traffic if you even do minimal promotion.

And you know what, yes you can do just that. If anyone says otherwise I call bs on them. I have done this time and time again with no problems. I have said it before and I will say it again, I have pulled a keyword domain out and created an autoblog on it simply because I like the niche or I think it will do well. Some do fail because I don't promote them, no lie. Others do fine with no promotion. It's hit or miss. But that's with no promotion. Yes, I don't take my own advice all the time, but I give advice based on personal experience.

BUT! Once I do determine the niche and keyword, I do use kw research to determine what categories I will use and post articles to so that the articles are based on that kw research. And I use it for the metas so no, I would not agree to cut the kw research out, but at what step you use it in can indeed be interchanged.

I'm tired of reading bs posts from bs people. I'm telling you this information from 100% real experience, not theory.

Shylesson: use plain English please, your speech is confuse.
I don't see your points: using words like these in the scrapers as keywords:

Business & Money
Arts
Entertainment
Health & Fitness
Life
Politics
Sports
Technology
Gaming
Blogging
Pets
Religion

Is that your general idea?
Sorry, but English is not my native tongue...

I agree with shylesson, you're putting too much into this.

omoxx, go for the big niches, that's fine. But make sure you don't target highly competitive keywords in those niches or you'll have trouble ranking anywhere close to the first page of Google. Do your keyword research and find those keywords that have HIGH traffic.. but target the ones without all the competition.

It's as easy as that.

Just go for it really, as I said in the eBook though, promotion is a very important part of autoblogs. Without it, an autoblog usually will not take off.

Good luck,

OK, mates: To clarify: If for a regular niche blog we look as main keyphrase in the range of 3,000 searches per month with a "" competition of 30,000, which values would you choose for Autoblogs?

The same ones or different?

My response is to some of the people out there say"this guide is basic, this info is out there in the forums" you might be right. The point is that you need to remember that we are at all levels in the forum and time is money. I dont really have all day to hunt around for stuff to compile in a usable manner. Is the guide good, IMO yes, but it is just that,a guide. I also like the customer service that I am getting but thats why I love BHW.
Just my 2 cents
Xray

Thanks, yes I did three months of research and work putting this guide together.

It was an awesome learning experience really, I accomplished my goal in taking my Autoblogging skills to the next level completing it.

I'm just glad it can help other people as well.

That sounds pretty good actually.

Also remember you want buying keywords.

Keywords people use to buy an item. That's where the real money is. :)

I am using plain English. It IS my native tongue and I don't see how you can tell me to use it when it is not yours.

All you have to do is make a blog. Pick a damn keyword. Make sure the domain uses that keyword. Do keyword research and focus your posts around that research. Promote and prosper. Stop hanging around this thread repeating yourself and not taking any actions. If you don't succeed at first, try another keyword, try another setup, try more promotion, point is: TRY. No one here is going to give you their moneymaking keywords [at least I won't] because we don't want duplication.

Values I would choose for autoblog: whatever I am interested in. Stop analyzing and start doing.

This is about keyphrases and Autoblogs.
Inconsistencies are killing me!

"Make sure the domain uses that keyword. Do keyword research and focus your posts around that research"

"Be sure to include your buying keywords in your domain names..."

And the examples are:
techchuck*com
worldnews2u*info
cooking.ixltrainingbooks*co

We don't have keywords there!
Thanxxx

Keywords are in those domain names, though they aren't apparent at first glance.

Regardless, that's only a SMALL part of it.

The best thing you can do right now is get started on your autoblogs.. the sooner they're up and running, the faster you'll start making money. :)

Don't you worry, I keep on working at the same time, but trying to not repeat mistakes!

Regarding very targeted KW and Autoblogs there are not many chances to apply them: domain name, blog title categories, tags, and specially in the scrapers like Caffeinated or Wp-o-matic, etc.

But if you put very targeted KW on them , you pull very few things.

What is your advise for Caffeinated or Wp-o-matic, etc.: using very targeted KW or more general KW?

If your input is more general, all the other locations for KW, title, categories, etc, are going to be enough to rank for the chosen KW?

Thanks

Not very general, but as specific as I can and still get content.

Or if you're having trouble with that, locate a targeted blog and use their feed for content.

There are many ways to get targeted content.

Then yes having your blog SEO for a keyword you want to rank for and generating backlinks with your keyword will help a lot.
