LOL, really???? Well, when hosting companies say "unlimited space", they mean "unlimited space for your websites", NOT for storage or any other purpose. So even a huge site, it only takes up few gigs of space at the most, and most people never need more than a few gigs of space for their websites.
It makes sense when you think about it, the companies advertise "unlimited space" FOR "WEBSITE HOSTING PURPOSES", NOT for storage. And for hosting your sites, even if you have 50-100 sites on the host, you should not go over 20-25 gigs, and I think that's what "unlimited space" means. You will see big companies like Hostgator, Bluehost, etc. they all have "unlimited space". With any of them, if you chat or call support and ask if you can use their servers for storage purpose, I am sure 100% of them will say that they do not allow uploading and downloading big files, some will tell you straight that they do not allow you to use the server as a storage, and they will ban you immediately if they find out.
So I don't think all of them (or ShapeHost in particular) lie to you, it's just that you have to understand what "unlimited space" really means

Please go on the biggest hosting providers and ask them to host 12TB of storage for $7. Also, make sure to read where it says unlimited. There are no lies here, but any webmaster that has 12TB of storage knows is not possible to host with $7. Please stop spamming this thread.

I use shape host now for three month and I can say they are incredible. I got it with Win 8 but I needed Win server and they quickly changed it so I could start working with it. What i like - I never had any crash or downtime since i have used it and their support is very reliable. Signed up with them a little while ago, pretty sure there is a post about that.
Then I wanted an upgrade.... for a minute I thought the wheels came of... but NO it was not their side...
It was my side, particular the carbon based bit that processes information from the screen and inputs into the keyboard.
After a few polite emails from the shape team, it was time to get into shape.
I followed their instructions to the letter and hey PRESTO all good.
You can be a NOOB and still have a VPS if you use these guys... Highly recommend them... forget about the speed as that is mindblowing. It is the service that comes with it that counts.
Shape... very happy to be a customer and will be one for a long time to come.

So, I have been using OP's VPS for about 5 months now. I ordered a VPS in feb, as you can see in my post #21 in this thread. I once encountered a problem when I couldn't log into my VPS and Darius fixed the problem in less than half an hour. I've been running numerous SEO tools and bots on the server and never had any problem. I must say that I am very impressed by their service and support. I would really recommend them to anyone looking for VPS with good config. with an affordable price. Keep it up, Darius.
