Hello I did a search on the thread and didn't see this addressed so I have a quick question:
What will the referrer look like on the other website's end that I redirect visitors to?
Example: Someone visits "mysite.com/product1.html" . I redirect them to "abc123.com"
Does the log on their end show that the visitor came from "mysite.com/product1.html" or no?
Also...Is there an option to set a specific redirect URL per category? Would make it a lot easier for websites with 1000's of pages. I really don't want to change each post in that scenario!
Thanks for the help. Looks like a great plugin.
P.S. Please send the discount code.
I need to test referrer, give me few minutes please.
Anyway, you can alway mask referrer with one more redirect.
About redirect based on category - there isn't option for it, but we can build it. Nobody asked for that before.
Did you get a chance to test that yet? Thanks.
Ops, I forgot to post results.
Test shows that referrer is present in redirect.
So, redirect destination will see URL of your blog.
You can do two things:
1) in your blog place regular link to that page, so if they check your site they will see regular link pointing to them
2) use redirect like tinyurl that will hide your referrer
