Olden, maybe this has been asked b4 but can you make multiple forums/domain?

would this be effective?

also, can I use .info would they be effective?

I'm trying to start a link farm and am not sure whether to purchase .com or .info domains.

You can make multiple forums on multiple domains. I can't say whether or not using .info domains is going to be effective for you, but it is my personal experience that .info domains get indexed at roughly the same rate. Whether or not they contribute more or less link juice is entirely up to speculation.

It could. It's main purpose is to be used as an SEO tool, but it is entirely possible that people could join and become actively engaged in the conversation. I would say that this is much more likely if the topic of the forum is controversial and non-commercial.

3rnesto, it might be helpful to remember that this isn't a method; there isn't one way to use the application. Rather, from the application come many possible methods, one of which is to sell directly through the forum, another of which is to use many forums to boost the ranking of one forum which then boosts the ranking of a money site. There doesn't necessarily have to be a huge number of links coming from your generated forum either. You also need to think of this as a scalable solution and not limit yourself to a single forum. FG's installation process was made with that in mind.

Feature requests:

Provide a "Posting Start Date" feature in the control panel to manipulate the timestamps of the posts to give the impression the posting started x months/years ago.
This would create more authenticity and the appearance of an older forum. And depending on how thorough G is at analyzing forums, at some point either now or in the future they might start factoring in the displayed date of each post into their algos; so this would help to eliminate any potential reduction in G's ranking of the content.

Make the keyword/phrase -> URL associations visible on the keywords page.
Currently it's a bit tedious having to click on every keyword to see it's URL association. (Of course we can simply look at the raw database for this, but some people might not be comfortable with that.)

Add a "Purge FG Stats" feature to the control panel that enables us to reset the FG stats if we're not happy with the relevancy of the currently posted content. (Note: The user would need to also prune the phpBB forums from the phpBB control panel too.)
As I've been testing, I've had to purge and start over several times to get the exact results that I want. And sometimes it seems that FG gets "stuck" and won't generate any new content after a purge. Then I fiddle with various things, e.g., resaving the cron jobs, deleting and recretaing the keyword lists, change the posting speed, etc., and then finally something seems to kick the FG back into gear. (If there's a specific thing that needs to be done after a purge to avoid this FG "freeze" and all this trial-and-error, please let me know.)

More feature requests:

Add an "Add Content Source" widget to the FG control panel.
Some of the ones that are listed in the DB are not very authoritative for many types of concepts; so being able to add our own would be very useful for many products/services.

Allow user to select/de-select content sources.
This would allow users to have more granular control over the relevancy of content created in each forum.

A good feature would be to automatically generate posts from a moderator also. Would be abnormal to have a giant forum with no moderator, or if there is one, for him to have 3 posts and everyone else 100.

As long as it is within the same web accessible file system and you know the path to the phpBB install, you should be able to upload the fg folder anywhere.
