So for the (not too smart people) with just a website on hostgator baby account the only option is to change it up on hostgator to a vps account.

Is this the case now.

Is this a difficult task to get set up this vps account on hostgator.

Is it difficult to get this program up and running on a hostgator vps account.

I would like to see an example of a site with this on. Can the op or someone pm me one.
Correct. For the time being, I wouldn't use HostGator's shared hosting services. If cPanel, etc is setup, it isn't difficult to get it running on an account that supports it at all. There are pretty clear cut installation instructions.

You can check out the demo here.

I purchased this when it came out.

Like a lot of things it was sitting on my hard drive (not really as I did not have the latest upgrade)

A few emails later I was installing within minutes. (the manual is awesome)

I had a glitch I did not understand, and within minutes again, I had an answer and was set up.

Support is TOP NOTCH!!!!!

Sincere Thanks

Wow! I purchsed FG two days ago and LOVE it! I had some glitches with the server during the install but support spent a lot of time with me and got it up and running last night. My site is isn't even live yet but it looks like a bunch of people have already been there for a while posting to the forum. Great product and AWESOME support!

Okay, dumb question of the day. Related to the discussion of installation of FG, I have a HG reseller account, is that considered shared or dedicated? I am thinking it's shared. Am I wrong?

****I think I answered my own question: "Private Name Servers based on your Domain" - so, I guess it'd dedicated, huh?****

I believe that the reseller accounts have the same account restrictions as the shared hosting accounts with regard to crons. As far as I know, their VPS and dedicated offerings are the only ones that you can run FG without potentially breaking ToS.

Only 49 Copies Left At $129.97!

Alrighty. I bought FG an hour ago. Looking forward to giving it a go. Thanks for all the quality products. Great stuff.

Hi,

Does anyone know of a phpBBB premod that includes advertisements?

I know, I'm lazy but it would make things easier.

Cheers.

Hi

Well, Forum Generator Works fine - here's my dilemma......

I just looked at 2 of my forum sites, and found "morons" posting child porn and stuff on it... I live in the USA and that will get me in jail faster than a bank robbery of Fort Knox... so I took ALL the sites down that had forum generator on it, for fear of being stuck in a 5 x 5 cell with bubba.

Can you help me learn how to stop this crap? So I can use your generator?

Tkx

How about making a disclaimer in the forum like

" We arenot responsible for posts of our members . each member is responsible for his post " ?

@Oldenstylehats too bad I can't get it at a cheaper price anymore:D anyway, I will be getting this software later this month. Can you hold one copy for me @ $129.97? BTW where can I get the cheapest but effective vps for this?

Thanks in advance

alright, so i have money in my paypal :)

Now can someone answer crack_dhat's question please ! I have the same question and a few more

Also, will the content be looked as unique by SE's or its jst perception building for people who visit the main site?

What are the sources except yahoo qna to populate the forum. Anyway to get it working to fetch content from answers.com ?

Does it need a vps / dedicated or is it possible to use it on justhost.com shared plans?

billgates, you might want to scan the thread a bit, the last question was covered quite a bit. I think maybe page 25 or 26. Just an FYI.

What kind of tos are you talking about?

Hey oldenstylehats,

i have been reading some of the posts and i have to say it is always a breathe of fresh air when a good tools comes about!

I have a question (which may seem strange somewhat) but can FG be set up so you can drip in your own content?

So if a new sign up comes on board to the forum, instead of been overwhelmed by all the content that has been there for lets say 6 months you can drip content to that specific user? I guess like an autoresponder, so that you can give them certain offers at certain times based on the drip of info you have set up for them.

And if not do you know which tool can?

Also, a similar question to the my first one, can FG scrape content, hold it in a holding place some where and drip in the content bit by bit to the user based on at what time they signed up?

Cheers

@billgates: I wouldn't use the current version on a shared hosting plan. There are literally thousands of VPS providers that will all be fine. If you're not good with server administration, stick to one's with cPanel. If you are, stick to one's without cPanel.

With regard to Google, pages are spidered and indexed. The duplicate content "penalty" is basically a myth, as per many discussions on BHW. What FG's specific value is to you depends more on how you use it than anything else.

With regard to sources, I'm not going to list them. With a little PHP/scraping know-how, you could absolutely add your own content sources. Without that knowledge, you'd either have to learn or hire someone to add sites.

@icepay: The host's ToS.

@maryjayne: I just responded to your PM with some questions for you. Interesting idea.

Only 41 Copies Left At $129.97!
