Searching for more proxies based on the proxies already found by the tool has always been a part of the software.
I feel it is important to note that port scanning is a difficult task to do right and something that virtually nobody is willing to help others with as the few out there skilled in it are selling the proxies they find from that process. Also port scanning is actually illegal in most places of the world so do be aware of that, port scanning will get your server banned from the vast majority of providers.
This is why port scanning (though actually a very simple process) was never implemented in NHP, because of the potential issues that could arrive from just hitting the scan button without knowing the potential consequences of it.
NHP is still the only tool that is able to output proxy lists at a specific interval and ensure that proxies are no older than a specified time.
What this means is that with any other tool they do a scrape and test the proxies, some will output at the end of testing all proxies and some will output the lists at a given interval. None will re-check proxies every X minutes, this means that proxies can be hours old by the time they are used by whatever tool you import them into. No Hands Proxies ensures that proxies are working within a reasonable timeframe and is the only tool that can do this.
Thank you for the reply. I had downloaded your software and have been testing it for the last few days. But if you do not mind me giving a genuine feedback, the quality of proxies being returned by the software is nowhere near expectations. I hardly get around 10 Google proxies but they also do not actually pass Google search when I check manually at that instant. Morever, the vast majority of proxies returned is not of a very good quality. Most of the elite proxies shown in NHP are not even working or not shown as anonymous by Scrapebox. Though I am an extremely loyal Scrapebox user and simply love it but I do not trust it 100% for the proxy test too as I find many proxies to be transparent though shown anonymous by SB. There are other tricks of finding the quality of the proxy and from my personal experience over the years, the proxies which pass lagado.com/proxy-test normally work well in most websites. Most of my scanned proxies with my own choice of ports pass the Lagado test just to give you an example. And I have hardly ever found any problem with my own scanned proxies in any website.
Even the elite proxies returned by NHP were returning me very less harvested urls per second for the last few days. So, I thought that maybe it is due to the wrong proxy test by NHP. So, I also added the lagado test in the manual website settings in the output settings. And till now, it has not returned a single proxy to be honest. If I run my own proxy sources and SB original sources, I get about 50 proxies at least passing the lagado proxy test in hardly half an hour. And one of the biggest problem is the speed of checking proxies. NHP is too slow in the proxy check and so takes too much time. In SB for example, I can check a 100K proxy list within an hour or so and get at least more than a thousand anonymous proxies at times even after removing the China proxies. But there are hardly a few hundred proxies at a time including transparent proxies. And the elite and anonymous combine runs into a few dozens.
I know about the port scanning and the problems attached. But I have been doing that for long and now know the ports and ranges to an extent. Moreover, I run a separate old VPS where I do not use SEO software or other stuff only for port scanning proxies. It has been long and touch wood I have never faced problems. I anyways scan only a limited set of proxy ports which probably most others normally don't do and only in a few IP ranges after removing dangerous IP ranges. Any good system admin would know that those are for proxies. Even I see port scanned in my own servers in firewall of my servers every few minutes. So, nowadays it is becoming less of an issue I suppose as system admins are now able to differentiate between a hacking attempt and a proxy scan. And for those stuff I mainly use European servers as internet laws are a bit reasonable in those countries. Anyways I use only throwaway and not in use VPSes for scanning and so, even if the server is closed I do not worry.
Please do not mind my genuine feedback for NHP. I really like the logic behind the software but the proxies being returned are really bad and I mean it when I am saying that. These proxies hardly harvest anything. I had set NHP to go through Yahoo and Bing check even and then to output to a file from which Scrapebox would pick up every few minutes. But even with more than a hundred proxies shown in the file, SB could barely scrape Yahoo and Bing at 25 urls per second with 15-20 threads. Most proxies seemed to be banned or not working and were showing errors whereas for my own port scanned proxies or even scrapebox harvested proxy sources it was working at about 200+ urls/s for the former (hardly 20 or so scanned proxies) and around 100+ easily with the latter. (SB harvested proxies with their sources plus my own sources).
The reviews here too seems to be going down recently. I never like to say anything negative about any software and that is the type of person I am. But it hardly seems to be working properly it seems for a dedicated proxy tool. A multi-function tool like Scrapebox is returning probably 10 times better proxies and working probably 10 times if not more faster than this. I love the idea behind the continuously updated proxy file and the harvesting for more sources automatically etc. but in reality it is just not working properly or bringing out any worthwhile proxies.
