Once I import a CSV, how do I update with the selected metrics?

edit: nevermind, I figured out that you still have to put in the url even if you import.

Great! Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. Let me know if you have any other questions.

NEW UPDATE COMING: Here is a preview of some of the reporting functionality being added:

More to come!

Hey guys, still loving the tool! Do you have an affiliate program by chance?

As you've been promoting keyword scout some time ago - are you in contact with http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/members/75780-macdonjo3.html?
Their product webpage: http://keywordscount.com is not working the same as support and the product itself - what has been going on?

I am pretty sure you mean this...

*** NEW UPDATE RELEASED ***

Pleased to announce another Backlink Miner Update. Here is a rundown of the latest updates:

1) New Settings Options When Analyzing A Domain:

A) Select which version of Google you want to pull results from when checking backlinks by keyword or when pulling metrics from Google

B) Perform www and non-www searches with Moz backlink data. Moz treats the www. and non-www versions of a domain separately and this option will pull backlink data for both so you can pick up a few more backlinks

C) Analyze Only Live Links: this option will first check to make sure a link exists before pulling any metrics on that backlink. This will help save time during the analysis phase

D) Automatically generate link reports: this options will automatically create the backlink reports once analysis is completed.

2) New Backlink Source:
WebMeUp.com backlink data is now available.

3) New Analysis Option: "Analyze Referring Domains" option will pull backlinks like normal but will then trim all backlinks down to the root domain and remove duplicates so you can quickly see and analyze just the linking root domains to a site. Great for checking out the domains linking to an expired domain.

4) New Metrics: 4 New "Ad info" Metrics can be found under "Ad Info" in the metrics drop down menu. These are kind of "experimental" metrics and need a bit of an explanation.

Their main purpose is to try and find the most profitable keywords to optimize for based on whether a site has consistently advertised on the anchor text keywords they are using.

Huh? :-) Let me explain.

One of the most powerful tactics for SEO is to first run a PPC campaign to see which keywords in your market convert the best and not necessarily try to rank for keywords that get the most traffic but don't convert.

The problem is that it can be expensive to conduct this kind of testing.

With these new metrics we try to "cheat" a little and let our competitors tell us which are the best converting keywords.

This is done by checking to see whether or not a site is running PPC ads for the keywords they are using in their anchor text, and if so how long have they been advertising for that keyword.

If they have been consistently advertising on a non brand keyword they are trying to or are ranking for this is a strong indicator that it is a profitable keyword and worth optimizing for.

Here are the specific metrics:

A) Anchor Advertiser: indicates whether or not the domain being analyzed is an advertiser for the anchor text keyword

B) Months Advertised Past Year: Indicates how many months over the past year the site has been advertising for a specific anchor text keyword/phrase. The more monthe the higher the probabiity this is a "money" keyword

C) Advertisers Past Year: How many advertisers have been found on the first page of Google for the anchor text over the past year. The higher the number the more volatile that keyword is and could be an indication that it is difficult to consistently and profitably run ads for that keyword.

D) Advertiser For 6+ Months: Gives the percentage of advertisers that have advertised for 6 or more months for the anchor text keyword over the past year. If the percentage is high it can be an indication that it is a profitable keyword to bid on.

5) Reporting and Graphing Functionality: We have now (finally) introduced graphing and reporting functionality for a number of metrics to help you better understand and digest the link profile of any website.

6) A few additional interface tweaks and usability enhancements.

All users will be automatically notified of the update when launching the software.

Hope you enjoy it and let me know if you have any questions :-)

This software looks and sounds great. Congrats on that.
I will definitely buy it tomorrow. Just three quick questions before I buy:

1. The nice looking graphs and pie charts for all the metrics, can these be exported as a PDF so I can hand it over to a client? And if yes, can I select what metrics should be exported and what not or do I just delete the pages within the exported PDF that I do not want to have?

2. On one of the first pages someone said he or she gathered a couple of hundred EDU and GOV links with that tool. Can someone explain how to make the best of the tool in order to dominate a search for a specific term and after analyzing the top 10 competitors?

3. Is there a kind of a guide that explains how to make the best out of this software - kind of a best practice guide I mean?

Looking forward to your answers.

Great update. Is the user guide updated? Also, some of the anchor text are highlighted in yellow. What does that mean? I also like the new metric reports but I don't see how to export them.

Thanks!

I'm working on updating the user guide, hope to have it done tomorrow.

When an anchor text is highlighted yellow, it means it is a common anchor text used in blog comments so it could be potentially spammy. If you see an anchor text highlighted in red it means it is one of the most commonly spammed anchor texts on blog comments (think viagra, web hosting, etc) This is just to help give a visual indication that the particular anchor text is often found on spammed to death blog comments and is probably on Google's radar as an anchor text that is overly optimized for.

Unfortunately the reports aren't exportable at the moment...but plenty of people are letting me know they want this :-)

Let me know if there are any other specifics with the reporting you would like to see. Feedback will be really helpful for this area of the software.

Ok thanks. Also a heads up, when I import a saved session and hit create reports it crashes.

Include all metrics in the reports and YES YES YES make the reports exportable as PDF please. That would be awesome.
