Will be purchasing this very soon. From all the feedback here you can't go wrong. Will post a review when purchased and used.

Sounds good. Looking forward to that review :-)

Thanks to all those that have purchased!

I also really love this idea. Just waiting for the boss to give me the green light and then I am going to purchase :)

Sounds good. Looking forward to having you on board.

Got it on VPS and it works now :) (win server 2008 R2)

Great! Glad you're up and running smoothly.

Just so that you guys can see where I'm coming from, I've already done a ton of research in this area and have successfully done it as well..with a ton of legwork. See here -

http://justinbriggs.org/how-visualiz...-data-in-gephi

Now, that' visual representation which is pure AWESOMENESS for contextual understanding. However, I think you guys are pulling enough data from different networks to do diff/alike comparisons and filter it to a column view. Again, just an idea

Interesting stuff indeed. I think we would need to figure out a little more user friendly way to present all of that though :-)

Thanks to all who have purchased today!

Landed on one of jlwilson78's tut on domain scrapping by chance today when I noticed his signature---and like a good BHW member, I started to look for a ripped version.

I did find one too but as I was checking around, I landed on this thread. Seeing the fulsome praise, I checked out the prices and as the BHW price was lower than the market price, I decided to buy the software.

Of course the fact that jlwilson78 had shared a detailed post on expired domains, helped. I knew from reading it that he knew his stuff. So I bought the software and used it.

Still toying around with it, but my first response is very good. Many of you have mentioned ease of use, which I second. But another thing I liked is that it is fast (I am using another $250 software which is also integrated into SeoMoz, Majestic SEO etc) and I had till now concluded that my scans were taking inordinately long because I am on a 1mbps connection! Seems not, I used Backlink Miner---and so far I have been pleased with the speed.

Also, ever since I started looking at expired and deleted domains, I have been checking out various sites and tools. I find places like Freshdrop provide a backlink count for the listed domains, but I found I was not able to double check the information easily. I tried out a few domains on Backlink Miner and found I was able to get more information on backlinks with it than the places and tools I had tried thus far, including SEO Spyglass (SEO Power Suit).

I am not sure of the reason (since most softwares seem to integrated with SeoMoz or Majestic SEO), but I am very pleased with the results and I do hope jlwilson78 will continuously improve his software to make it the best there is in the business.

So I just purchased and I like it so far. I do have a question. I know it only does 1000 backlinks because of the SEOmoz api limit (unless you upgrade to $500/month minimum smh). The 1000 limit is killing me and I also have an ahrefs package. Is there anyway you can add the ability to import backlinks? I know we'll probably lose some metrics but it would be a great addition if possible.

Thanks for the purchase. We really appreciate the support!

To get more than 1000 links you don't need to sign up for the $500/month API plan though (thank goodness).

You can sign up for their SEOMoz pro account (http://www.seomoz.org/plans) that runs $99/mo BUT it is completely free for the first month. This allows you to export up to 10,000 links from Open Site Explorer and you can then import them into Backlink Miner using the import option.

As for Ahrefs, we are looking to add support for them in the future. That said I have what I think is a workaround I've been playing with that I think you should be able to use to import your Ahrefs data in the mean time. Let me test it out a bit more and I'll PM you the details (it's not going to be elegant but it should work)

Oh ok, I do have a seomoz pro account and I can use the OSE option. So I guess that's good for now. I just happen to use ahrefs a lot more on a daily basis. So I'd love to hear the workaround, thanks.

2 questions

01) What makes this better then seo spyglass. Can I get a compare and contrast?
02) Is macdonjo the seller because he doenst have the best trackrecord with his keyword product and I would hesitate to buy a product from him again.

My Review about Software:
I used many Software in last Year. but I must say SPeed, Performance of this Backlink Miner is like Oh Hell..what is it doing!!!I was amazed to see Speed. and it gave me Exact Backlinks of competitor.
I am running a Small test from last night with SOftware. Well, Test is simple my one site with very High Competition is on 4th Position, which was not even able to get on 1st Position with Sape. So I am now Using it to find my 3 Competitors Links and My team is placing links where possible. So we see if this software can help me go to 1st Position in next 2-3 weeks?
My ratings for software: Speed 10/10, Performance 10/10. Support 10/10..Price Cheap as compared to other Backlink Monitor or Mining Tools.

Been playing with this for the last few hours. My review - this is Incredible for the speed, data and results mined. Simple to run, fantastic interface for such a low price and newbie friendly. As an agency provider I use a number of other highly priced monthly backlink tools that will never be able to render this combination of results in one go - full stop without me sitting for hours on Excel.

Few tweaks here will make this even more of a killer kit. But for the price and the replies from the OP who listens, responds with questions and also considers various updates 10/10 :) I will be using this a lot.

I'll try to cover some of the differences between SEO Spyglass and Backlink Miner (other than they have a few years head start!).

The biggest things they have that we don't are reporting/graphing features and multiple backlink sources. Although, funny enough, the backlink source we use is not used by SEO Spyglass. Reporting and graphing functionality is big on my list of things to add but not at the top of the list at the moment.

As for things we do that they don't it mainly comes down to metrics. Here are a few things we collect that they don't (to the best of my knowledge):

Title Rank - check to see if a backlink ranks for it's page title to gauge possible link penalty

Anchor Rank - checks to see if a site actually ranks for the anchor text it is targeting

Link network detection - using expired domains, purchased websites, adsense and Google analytics Id comparisons, and web hosts)

Search volume and CPC data for anchor text - to help determine the how commercial and competitive the anchor text term is (we use our own 87 million keyword database for this which we update monthly)

Spam Detection - we check for common spam phrases used in the anchor text and on the backlinking page to help identify pages that have already been spammed to death that you should probably avoid

Link Theme Detection - lets you see if a site has links topically and thematically related to the domain you are analyzing or a bunch of off topic links

Link Category - Seo Spyglass does this to some extent but we try to determine the type of link across a number of link types (article directory, blog comment, hosted blog site, bookmarking, classifieds, document sharing, forum, guest post, guestbook, infographic, paidpost/review, photo sharing, podcast directory, press release, profile, Q&A site, social/sharing, video site, web 2.0, web directory, wiki site )

There are probably a few more but those are the major things.

Thanks for the interest!

If we have access to Majestic or Ahref, is there a possibility to add our own list and get those details that are provided by this awesome software.

Not at the moment but we plan to add this in the near future.
