Got my report and everything looks nice and clean.

Here's the reason why I believe PAD links are great:

In my experience, many directories put in the HOMEPAGE of the site where the pad file is located. This means that AGED domains who has at least 1 PR (file sites easily get PR without much backlinks because of uniqueness of content and natural backlinking) are giving your site a link. Links like these are VERY UNLIKELY for your competitors to have. This alone is a benefit.

Another benefit is that even if hundreds of domains are pointing to an inner page that contains your PAD/file, that inner page will likely get much UNIQUE link juice to which your whole domain will benefit from.
