If I understand it correctly, you are saying that your new method (that queries Bing) will produce almost the same results as your old method (v1.4.16).

I had to prove it to myself. And if what you're saying is true then I'll move on and use your new method.

So I picked 1863 expansive keywords (with good traffic) that were previously reported as Difficult (score 60-95) by your old method.

Plugged the keywords into your new version v1.4.20.9, and the results were disappointing...

Your new method reports that 78.7% of the keywords are Easy, or Very Easy. And these are expensive keywords with good traffic (see partial list below).

Note, I'm only using Google-enabled US proxies, found by Proxy Multiply.

Sorry Clyde, I'm still not convinced that your new method produces reliable competitive analysis. And please believe me when I say I'm doing this because I want your product to work. It WAS working fine. It WAS fast. But now......

I'm aware of those keywords. I never said the new method is as accurate as the old method, it's "accurate enough" as a first level filter. Previously, we analyzed the Top 3 sites ranking on Google.

We use "results with quotes" now and it'd just be as inaccurate if we queried Google instead of Bing.

For example "stock image photography" gives 191 results in Bing, and 180 results in Google. It'd still show as Very Easy if we had used Google.

Regardless of old/new method, when you see a keyword with high searches and CPC but low competition, those keywords are suspect and you'll always need to look at the Top 10 as a final check. It wasn't 100% accurate with the old method neither.

I'll talk to the programmers about bringing back the old method and adding 5-10 seconds delay with no multi-threading. Perhaps that'd help with the success rate. Unfortunately, it'll also be slow.

The "forced proxies" sounds very bad though... what about people who switch vpns? Forcing options is never a good thing.

I'm afraid it's necessary, I don't make the rules though, our data providers do.

People with VPN's will have to do with the current method using REAL Comp. data.

When you are adding the old method of Competition analyze back, can you add an option of not using delay and using multi threading? since I'm using multiple private proxies it didn't cause me any problems and I am able to mass check competition.

But, no multi-threading is a huge step backwards!

Without multi-threading, then analysing 30K keywords, according to your calculation would take 10 days.

But, v1.4.16 (the old version) can do 50 threads at a time, and theoretically can finish the job in just 5 hours. Provided of course, you have 50+ good proxies that never gets banned.

I remember the day when I first fire up UNF and saw it Googling 50 threads - it was fast, and the results although not 100% accurate, it was good enough.

Without multi-threading you may have one of the slowest niche finder in the market.

Maybe you can reduce it to 25 threads max?...

We'll have both but it won't be as fast as previously. (around 1s per keyword, hopefully)

The limit is not set by me for fun, when you're scraping stuff, you have to adapt or the software will stop working. Your feedback is valuable but believe me I've thought all of that out before switching to the more inaccurate method we have now.

No sorry, same reason as above. There'll be multithreading but it won't be as many as before. The best we can do right now is about 1s per keyword for the Top 3 Analysis and that's already pushing the limit.

Even at that speed which is pretty fast IMO, UNF is still the fastest KW research tool out there.

The last one I tried, SKCA took 15 second+ to analyze a single keyword. Analyzing a list of 30k keywords took me 5 days, and that doesn't include generating the longtail keywords or checking EMD availability.

Those are working fine, please try without proxies. It's a problem with either your proxies or your IP.

Also, you'll need to use Google-enabled proxies. Please use the built-in tester to verify.

Yes, the new method is more accurate, we analyze the Top 3 websites ranking on Google for your keyword term and look at the important factors such as number of backlinks to page, backlinks to domains, type of backlinks, Google PageRank of page, onpage SEO, domain/page authority and more.

You can use the Free version of Traffic Travis to look at the Top 10 and you'll see that the data UNF gives will tally. The Difficulty score is just a number out of 100. SEO is all relative so if you're used to ranking websites that are Hard, Moderate will be easy for you etc.

If you're new, I'd recommend going for Green.

Hey Clyde, I just wanted to ask your opinion on ripping proxy from the free proxy lists shared in the proxy forum here. I've been using them and it hasn't failed me so far! Members are updating lists all the time..

I think bringing back the old method of top 3 sites and analyzing them is better. I mean with the new method you were just seeing how many sites were optimized for the keyword correct?

Analyzing top 3 sites by looking at backlinks etc is WAY more efficient in my book as that's the reason I bought this software.. Because before I'd find a keyword and I'd have to check the top 3 sites manually using other software, now your software can do a brief quick check which saves me time, of course in general I still have to further analyse the top ranked sites but this program gives me an easy platform to check multiple keywords at the same time and find the ones I want to further analyze and possibly dominate.. So thanks for making a really good piece of software so far, your updates and customer service are also awesome, you're really staying on top of all your customers needs..

I'm really looking forward to see how this piece of software expands and to see where it will be taken in the future.. lots and lots of possibilities but I'm sure you're already thinking and devising the next moves..

Hi Clyde... I can't find the button to delete or edit my post above. Neither can I reply to your PM. Probably it's due to my Newbie status.

However, I don't agree (with you) that my long post is "destroying" your thread. I think it was necessary in order to convince you that your new method of querying Bing was producing unreliable results. And I did spend many many hours gathering those data/results.

But I'm really glad that you listened to your customers needs and brought back the old method of analyzing the Top 3 sites. And I see you already have a few positive comments already, and would like to add one of my own...

I've been using those Easy keywords found by the old method to create posts on my blogs. And with minimal SEO, these posts are already listed in Google and bringing in traffic everyday. So when UNF says it's Easy, it's really EASY!...

v1.4.21.4 now runs 10 threads simultaneously. OK... UNF is still the FASTEST Niche Finder in the market!...
