This is simply ridiculous, I know you are a very busy man Peter, but really 5 days just to accept my Skype friend request and 3 days (and counting) just to answer a simple question ?!
The whole idea why I visit "hosting" threads on BHW is because I know the support will be better than any other host out there, but it's proving me wrong lol...

Thay are under ddos attach. I have same issue and was forced to upgrade to vps plan. Hope it will go better with the vps.

My sites are down for the last 12 hours and HostWinds is not sure when the server will be up
Are you sure? I have 2 accounts hosted with them, and they're both still up. They have been all night, i've been updating a site on their servers.

Ehh...good thing I checked this thread, I was about to make a purchase based on the praises I'm seeing all over the forum. But after reading this page it seems like the pass few weeks have been down time and DDOS attacks.

Yes, There have been a LOT of very large DDOS attacks lately as such we have made the following changes:
1) All business plans now included a dedicated IP address by default.
If you want to avoid being affected by the DDOS attacks, then simply purchase a dedicated IP address. This will prevent you from being affected by IP null routes, from DDOS attacks. We appreciate everyone's patience in dealing with these DDOS attacks. They happen to all providers, and we are working hard to ensure that they affect as few customers as possible.
We are currently running a special whereby we are offering ALL existing clients discounted dedicated IP addresses for only $1 more per month. If you would like to take advantage of this simply do the following
1) Login to your client area (https://clients.hostwinds.com/clientarea.php)
2) Navigate to your services section (https://clients.hostwinds.com/clientarea.php?action=products)
3) Click "View Details" to the right of your hosting account you wish to give a dedicated IP Address to
4) Under the "Management Actions" tab select "Upgrade/Downgrade Options"
5) Check the checkbox for a dedicated IP
6) On the next page type in Promo Code "IPADD" (No Quotes)
7) Select your payment method for the $1 to upgrade
Our technicians will then move your website to a dedicatd IP address, this will prevent your website from being affected by future DDOS attacks (unless your website is being directly targeted)
