I wanted to give my 2 cents on how I am creatively using keyword scout to my advantage since the Penguin update. Im sure everyone knows that google updated with the penguin update on april 24th, if you don't just search it on google or here on BHW. Well that messed up a lot of people. Generally it messed up rankings on peoples sites that looked unnatural. Natural = random.
One of the obvious indicators that floated to the top quickly is that penguin hit people who didn't diversify their anchor text when link building. I saw that in my personal research of penguin and it is being talked about publicly as well. For example, reference this article on SEOmoz:

Notice Tip#3 for Penguin friendly links.
[h=3]Tip #3 - Diversify Your Anchor Texts[/h]
This is something I have always bought into, but many didn't and they got hit. Personally none of my sites suffered. However I figured it was a great time to redouble my efforts. I had been working with 10-20 anchors on most of my main pages and sometimes 5-10 on inner pages, but keyword scout makes it so easy to do better.
If I have a site about cake and inner pages about chocolate cake and vanilla cake. I take my target terms for the chocolate cake page as my core terms. Then I put the phrase chocolate cake into keyword scout and just choose niche and scrape keywords. Then I grab all those keywords and add it too keywords for chocolate cake I already have. Then I probably have 30-50 good keywords for that url. Then if you want to control density you can in most link building programs. Like scrapebox if I wanted to have 80 of my anchors be on those main 5 keywords for the choc cake page, I would just put them in like
chocolate cake
german chocolate cake
moist chocolate cake
fresh chocolate cake
chocolate cake recipie
if those were my 5 core keywords I would go
chocolate cake
german chocolate cake
moist chocolate cake
fresh chocolate cake
chocolate cake recipie
chocolate cake
german chocolate cake
moist chocolate cake
fresh chocolate cake
chocolate cake recipie
chocolate cake
german chocolate cake
moist chocolate cake
fresh chocolate cake
chocolate cake recipie
chocolate cake
german chocolate cake
moist chocolate cake
fresh chocolate cake
chocolate cake recipie
chocolate cake
german chocolate cake
moist chocolate cake
fresh chocolate cake
chocolate cake recipie
chocolate cake
german chocolate cake
moist chocolate cake
fresh chocolate cake
chocolate cake recipie
chocolate cake
german chocolate cake
moist chocolate cake
fresh chocolate cake
chocolate cake recipie
chocolate cake
german chocolate cake
moist chocolate cake
fresh chocolate cake
chocolate cake recipie
Then include the rest of the keywords only once.
That way those core keywords are used more often. Obviously you would have to adjust the number of times you repeat your core keywords depending on how many 2ndary keywords you have.
Hopefully this make sense, but its really not hard to avoid penguin type updates and not be a target for google, and in the anchor text realm keyword scout gives you the exact keywords that google would want to see along with your primary keywords. Likely some or all of your primary keywords will be in that list generated by keyword scout, but thats ok, its the ones your not using that your after. Besides you might actually get traffic on these other keywords too, which would be even more of a win.
