The devs have done the right thing now, they have retracted the product and will improve it a lot before re-releasing it.
Hence, you can stop whining in this thread and use the normal support system instead of bashing a sales thread.
Hi folks long time lurker, first time poster (please forgive the strong tone of this post but it has to be said).
I agree that andrew and shea were right to retract their product. However I don't think many of the unhappy purchasers are a bunch of moaners they are really annoyed and rightly so.
This product launch has been hyped up for such a long time and many purchasers have been waiting patiently while the beta testers and the brownes have tried to get it to market.
Most of us realise from using amr that no matter how good a product is there will always be problems or little glitches. What we do not expect is a total lack of personal communication - no replies to vmr forum posts, no replies to support tickets and no replies to personal emails sent.
Last time the launch was delayed from 1st september to 5th september we all got a nice email explaining and saying sorry for the delay - that was a nice touch.
This time however I have had to search on google to find this thread and visit the homepage of vmr to find out that it wasn't just me having issues.
I can understand why andrew and shea didn't send me a personal reply as they are having a lot of issues but surely a general email to everyone would have sufficied?
As most of us in business know you are only good as your last customer and at the moment it isn't looking very good for andrew and shea.
Taking this into account I think that andrew and shea should not just say wait for the issues to be resolved or have your money back. This then leaves the purchaser with two options either (a) wait patiently for the issues to resolve. (b) ask for a refund.
I think this is a big mistake from andrew and shea as some purchasers will ask for their refund based on their frustrations and leave negative reviews. Those of us (me included) who believe andrew and shea are genuine and will eventually come up with the goods will wait patiently for the software to work to an acceptable standard.
However at this point in time I couldn't bring myself to give them a positive review as I feel they haven't provided an acceptable level of customer service.
Being a Brit we are used to rubbish or non existent service but even we have our limits when it comes to service.
It is very hard to turn a a bad situation like this in terms of PR. If I were andrew and shea I would offering my apologies left, right and centre to my purchasers even if I felt personally offended or disagreed with some of their comments - this I am sure is something most of us realise when dealing with customers you sometimes have to bite your tongue.
I for one would be happy if andrew and shea refunded all the initial purchasers as we are acting in affect now like beta testers, whom I may add first started testing the product did so for free!
Another option would be to offer a partial refund. Basically whatever it takes to get all the unhappy purchasers into happy purchasers as many potential purchasers like to buy on good reviews and and if you are not getting good reviews then you may lose a lot of your potentials buyers.
If you are listening andrew and shea please don't lose heart you have potentially great bit of software that could make you a lot of money. As long as you appease all the unhappy initial purchasers I think what has happened recently will be forgotten by most people and you guys can look forward to a bright and profitable future.
Looking foward to your response andrew and shea.
Kindest regards
