I've been keeping a close eye on this thread and finally wanted to share my experience(s) with LinkPushing. I can confirm some of the other issues reported on this thread, but have also had good results with LinkPushing in the past...so my struggle today to cancel (again) was difficult to say the least.
I used LinkPush for a while, for several sites...all pre 5.0 and had really good results. Better than any other service I use/used. I did dread using their site every month to add my pushes as it was painfully slow and wouldn't load half the time. A KILLER when you are pressed for time. Their desktop app also didn't work as expected most of the time, but hey...it's hard to get results so I tolerated it month after month.
The final straw was when their site simply wouldn't load for two days (by load I mean successfully add my pushes) and even couldn't get the desktop app to work. After two days of emailing asking if they could manually add my pushes for me, and not getting a reply, I had no choice but to cancel my subscription. I liked the service, but not being able to add pushes was unacceptable...and it wasn't like it just happen that month...it had been a struggle every month.
No customer service reply was the ultimate end though...sadly.
Several months had passed and I still received their emails about the new 5.0 and decided to try them again. At the end of the first month (end of Feb) my five pushes still didn't complete.
I'm not a hot-head, so I am pretty Zen about stuff like this and simply emailed asking what the deal was. Maybe I was too Zen because I was kind of blown off and told that "it takes time for them to complete and if had been over 20-30 days to let them know."
Um, first...I was grateful I got a reply this time after past experience, but at the very least I felt that they could have at least checked my account before giving me a cookie cutter reply. I appreciate being busy as much as the next guy, but if your going to reply at all...take the extra two minutes and LOOK at the account.
I then re-confirmed that it was outside of the window that they said should be normal and then they asked for my user ID so they could investigate. Great!
And then a day or two went by with no reply. Surely that could have been checked within the hour after I sent it (5 min later).
I was then informed that there was a problem with their system, as identified in this thread, and that they would fix it.
No problem. These things happen.
To this day, March 20th...one of my 5 pushes set up at the end of Jan has STILL not completed. All of my month 2 stuff is "pending" as well. I get the month 2 stuff, but the Jan push should have been handled by now or (at the very least) send me a message explaining why not. I'm pretty understanding.
For the four pushes that did finish, I checked the links and...their "not good dog."
I ALWAYS pick an article...to avoid non-relevant article submissions. From the links I received, they used anchor text from one site for the other (crossing sites as others mentioned) and the articles were all crazy nonsense...meaning not at all relevant to one the site was about. Certainly not at all what I selected for the article selection.
That's for the links that were live.
Many of the links don't even have anything on them...still (today, March 20th).
Rankings for every single keyword have also dropped. To be fair, it hasn't been 4-6 weeks yet since they completed...so them tanking (bad) at first can sometimes me normal (although concerning). If I wasn't doing other link building to neutralize this, it would be a bigger concern.
Bottom line? Not ready for primetime yet (5.0) and don't expect "good" customer service. Look, customer service is very hard to do at volume and scale when your dealing with a complicated system and limited manpower as they guys have...so just manage your expectation or not that going in.
They are smart guys, that try hard, and have a fairly unique system that can probably work for you if all the stars line up for your favor...so if you fall into that 10% by all means take advantage.
If not, then wait until some more testimonials and positive feedback/changes come into play like you would for any other service or business.
I hope this review helps at least one person. I also don't have any desire for refunds, help with my outstanding account or anything like that. This is just a cost of doing business. You win some and lose some and you have to adapt.
