If your site takes 5-6 seconds, he will stay for 30 seconds and if your site loads instantly, he will be online for 35 seconds.

It may be because most of the users have dial up connections and any normal site can sometimes take more time to load at their systems. Also, sites can take sometimes take more time to load under certain situations like server load etc.
