Login-password or IP authorization

We recommend setting both authorization types as default. However, if you don’t want to use login credentials for some reason, you can use your IP address instead.

The user/pass access is not working out of the box. You MUST use IP whitelisting or the proxies will not work. Apparently it costs $750 per month to enable user/pass authentication.

I asked for this feature to be enabled on my account and even offered to pay a little extra if needed. I was quoted $750 per month for something called "unlimited whitelist service" where all IPs are whitelisted. This is effectively user/pass authentication. This seemed strange to me, so I am asking here.

@m.kora If you are truly charging $750 per month to use user/pass authentication (something enabled by default on every single other proxy provider), then you might want to update your sales thread because it implies that this feature is enabled out of the box.

If these was a lapse in communication and I'm somehow misreading the email or not asking correctly, can you please help me get user/pass authentication enabled per your sales thread?

*Email attached from Soax team explaining the need to pay $750.

Login/pass or IP-authorization and whitelist are not the same.
You can acces your soax profile via login/pass but you cant use proxies if your deivce`s ip is not in your whitelist.

You can find more details in our FAQ

I recommend you give it a try before purchasing. Last three days have been a nightmare, impossible to get a connection. When they work it's a good service, but too many problems lately. All I hear is "Please be patient, we are doing our best". Customer Service is very nice and helpful but when you can't work it's a shame

OK fair enough. This is my last month with Oxylabs and then I will be using Soax as my primary provider. I hope you guys get real user/pass authentication soon as it's way more convenient than needing to whitelist IPs of your staff. My use case is advertising, so I have multiple media buyers accessing browser profiles through MLA. It's hard to keep track of everyone's IP and sometimes their home IPs will rotate.

All good. Thanks for the update. Kate is super responsive and helpful.

I've had god success with my use case, managing FB ads accounts. I can always find a connection in the areas I need and the ability to resolve to ISP is critical for managing ad accounts. For example, with Oxylabs, you can;t resolve to ISP level, so you end up getting connections on shitty IPs from Level3 and Cogent Communications, which are all flagged. Since I switched to Soax I have not hit any checkpoints on ad accounts. I've had a couple minor issues, but i can always find a connection on a reputable ISP.

Reliability is abysmal. It works an estimated 1 hour per day.
Curious where you're located or what geo you are trying to use? I've had good success in small geos like Colorado Springs and Aurora, CO. Once I was not able to pull an IP from the city I needed, so I enabled the entire state but resolved the ISP to Comcast, which gave me a good pool of IPs and no account checkpoints.

Actually login\pass authentication without necessary whitelist is coming in the nearest updates ;)

Very bad connection for city targeted, Los Angeles for example. I want some California areas and usually don't work. I'm losing to much time, started with IP and losing connection and money of course. I contacted them they say it can happen. But why they offer area target which works very bad. I'm not satisfied with this service

I decided to try their services today. No proxy was working (mobile ones) in any country. 2$ wasted. Tried to cancel the subscription and got
