It's just normal traffic purchased in bulk from popunder networks. Most should have javascript enabled and will show up in Analytics unless they're using an adblocker or privacy plugin that blocks analytics scripts.

We're okay with that. Our larger advertisers make deposits in the thousands of dollars - paying a $2.50 transaction fee is nothing.

Yes, you can limit how many hits you want to be sent on an hourly or daily basis.

It'd be significantly cheaper for someone to https://raw.githubusercontent.com/client9/ipcat/master/datacenters.csv to block all datacenters since that's where 99% of bot traffic comes from.

Or if you want to do it automatically/freely, you could just use CloudFlare to protect your landing page and enable "Under Attack Mode" to delay traffic.

Obviously any method can block a significant amount of real visitors - even the paid service. They'll block real users just because a VPN is being used or browsers with modified user agents from addons.
