Here is the latest ad to be created for a client that only posts locally.

Local ads seem to be at somewhat of a disadvantage when competing with spammers.
What ever approach you use, text ads or image ads. The challenge becomes how to make your ad seem as legit and local as possible and professional. Image Ads are getting slicker and slicker and people frown on that in CL yet we know they work.
When you use an image ad incorporate local symbols a building a bridge etc.
It wasn't to long ago I created a series of ads for someone in San Fransisco . None of her ads were flagged, I would like to think that it was the addition of a tastefully placed pic, of the Golden Gate bridge.
But what I do know for sure is it screamed local. Personal contact numbers street addresses, email addresses etc. The ad created a local event.
This creates an Inbound Trusting situation. People believe it is not a scam when they can talk to someone and it screams local.

If you are going to post to multiple cities then use local landmarks and put in an email address and get an autoresponder. Now you capture the email address and they are on your list for future mailings.

Below is an example of the ad.

The previous post is also a local ad that is another example of local advertising that doesn't get flagged.
Now having said this there are competitors that will flag you and the sad ones that flag everything.

I cant ever get image ads to stick..most last 5 mintues and then are flagged down

Hey everyone he did some work for me on couple of my client's. A+ work guys He Does take the time to make sure the work is completed on time. Ladies and Gentlemen the Price is Right With this guy.

wow Truth,
That hurts. so many things might come into play. Your account(s) your IP address, competition (this is a big one), outside links, the words in your text ad. It might even be the image ad if you are using one, is seen to be coming from the same image hosting source to many times. That is why I now use imageshack. the name of the file is scrambled each time you upload. You might be posting to many times with the same IP, email address,
It might also be you are posting in what is perceived as the wrong section.
I couldn't say until I know what you are doing specifically.
Have you tried mixing up all these factors?

I make no guarantees but maybe I can make a suggestion that will help.

Dont mean to hijack your thread.

But no, they are getting flagged down by users.Other factors have been checked twice.

Here is a Special Promotion in the Spirit of xmas discounts.

I was driving today and kept noticing all the billboards on the
expressway. Fast messages to keep the brand alive. But I also
noticed a trend towards special promotions for local companies.

Did you ever need that quick ad nothing involved just something
simple that you can do and get a message out and not have to
wait for a designer.

Created these in the Highway Billboard tradition.

Wow.

I really can't believe this thread isn't overflowing with pages
of happy clients right now! Honestly, I just ordered from Guy
early last week, and I was not only pleasantly surprised that
he held to the 24-48hr turnaround time (he was actually MUCH
faster than that for us, but I don't want to put any undue
pressure on him), but I was absolutely astounded at his quality,
professionalism, sincerity, patience, knowledge+know-how, and
utter MASTERY of Craigslist image ads.

Now, he was so good that I, as the marketing director for our
little team, was able to take just one example of his and convince
everyone else on my team that we need to include Guy in any way
possible with our future marketing efforts for our clients. Yep, if
it was up to me--the way our sales funnel is set up--we would have
everyone and their mother buying image ads from him. Heck, you
could easily charge someone $199 or more (perhaps I plan to do this)
and play middleman, keeping the profit.

Let me tell you why: his professionalism is then associated with your
company or service. And it's only $45! It's laughingly preposterous that
he charges so little for the work and obvious effort that he puts into
each ad (please don't charge me more on my next order, Guy lol!). Also,
you get INSTANT CREDIBILITY b/c Guy's ads are, even to a novice like
myself, so far above and beyond the mediocrity that's out there on CL.

If you're running a successful CL business, then this is a no-brainer:
you need to be using Guy to make your images (he does smooth-
operator videos too I believe for only a couple hundred bucks). If you're
just starting out with CL, well, you know your budget better than I do obv
but what's $45 for a lifetime (ok, prob at least the rest of 2010) converting
image ad? I'll tell you what it is: it's nothing! Beg, borrow, and blackhat
yourself 45 bucks and get on board before Guy's business blows up out
of your pricerange, n00b!

Highly recommended
A+++++++++++
Will use again...and again....and again.....

PS Seriously, I'm kind of outraged at the lack of activity here and sorry Guy
for not posting my review when you had finished our ad DAYS ago. That
was on me, not you. I'm lazy. You're awesome. END OF STORY.

PPS Ok, clearly I need to start a FanClub, but Guy: do you have any plans
for an affiliate program or something to help get your skills out there?

It shows you have 30 years of online experience. Even me, when I bought my TRS-80 in 1980, I couldn't get it connected on the internet. But again, I'm not as good as you are with these custom image. What are the prices for these artworks??

You're graphics are really good. If we buy some, who can do bulk postings in CL for us? any ideas? Thanks!

Hey tdog1,
Thanks for the comment. These are just to much fun to do. There are quite a few people here that can do bulk postings for you. I just don't do that. I considered it but finally decided it would be a big distraction to the designing process.

It would be kind of like designing an ad for magazines and then doing the media buy. Not a good idea. We each have our strengths.

This is mine. A recent ad for a New York Attorney.

Artguy,

Can you do landing pages for products too? We need a landing page designed for one specific physical product.

Thanks,

Brooks

Hi Orangeblood.
I PMd you on this. Just to re-iterate yes, I can do landing pages also.
Here is a link to a sample page for a squeeze page with video and optin box.
