Alright, I just placed an order for an Amazon backlink. I'll be providing the seller with a URL that currently ranks on the 2nd page for it's target keywords. I haven't had any link building done to this URL for about 6 weeks now. Once the seller provides me with the backlink, I'll watch for any SERP increases. I'll update everyone when I first see the link up, and then whether or not there are any SERP movements weeks after.

Another update:

The page is now indexed. Might have taken some time, but it finally happened. I'll give it about 2-3 three weeks before I let everyone know if there was any boost from this backlink.

Update:

It has been a bit over two weeks since my link has been indexed, let's look at the rankings:

So far, there has either been some slight improvements in rankings, or ranks have stayed neutral. I'll make one more final update two weeks from now, since I'm going to continue a link building campaign on this URL shortly, and will no longer be able to assess an accurate value of this Amazon link.

Edit: The black bar represents the day that the link was indexed (May 31st). Each graph represents a different keyword.

@Isolated Exactly. Some of our clients want an internal link on Amazon. Internal links are a ranking factor. Google uses the number of internal links to a page to decide how important that page may be. It also passes more “link juice” to your Amazon listing, meaning that it’ll be more authoritative in Google’s eyes.
