But yeah, who in the street would ask you to cut them a check for $6 million,
Thing is people who are new to the internet have never seen such
communications before, thats why they engage with them.
Thing is, the next generations are now more savvy, so this business model will eventually be extinct,
and they will move on to a new method.
I remember I tried to hire one of the guys who sent me a scam message about something i was selling on ebay,
I tried to get him to send me wooden carved animals, which he got cheap in his country,
but he was trying to charge me like $500 for a small box.
Couldn't resist.

Dude, what are you on? smartphones have email apps which are basically the same thing. As long as people have an email it doesn't matter which device they use, what matters is how gullible the person is.

trouble is once you open it you go on a list as a live email. now you'll get more, best delete without opening

Haha.... this old trips still happen anywhere in the world, I read about people been scam in my country just few weeks ago

Once received something similar back in 2015 just seeing for my case the lady says she is from Dakar, Senegal and her father was such a big mil officer and died with millions of $$$ and she is young, trying to tell me to give her a hand to claim those $... That make me think its a huge scam when i search the complete mail on google i see many similar in the result and all it ends is SCAM. So always think before you react

never ever click that... in past i clicked. and started to get 3 mails like that on daily basis. i was damm irritated

As said above, it could just be a way of checking for live emails and then using that qualified list for something else. Could also be that some people still fall for it. Even if someone doesn't really believe it but is curious and they enter into a conversation then they'll probably get hooked into some form of scam.
