I can see why some members would think that results from one site aren't enough to see what a new filter from Google is after.
HOWEVER, the whole point was not to state the facts about the inner working of the filter, it was so that we can see the results from one share. Instead of posting BS about how that is not enough, get a better perspective - do your own test with this strategy and share your results.
Some things will change, others wont - the ones that won't change (such as Social Signal I would assume) are the things to focus on with the new strategies.
Having one member give every detail is impossible, but with mutual test there might be something.
I've gone backwards to see what used to work and still works - I did a test with a site that got hit by Penguin, just posting 50 unique articles and most of the pages retained the lost rank so far, some are slowly climbing but still in the top100+ range.
I don't think trying to recover websites is a good idea except for big earning sites since starting a new website gives fresh results for testing, and after finding a good strategy - ranking.
A question to BB: I'm wondering about the G +1s, FB Likes etc, the accounts used to make them, were they established accounts with friends/followers or just accounts with a few pictures and a sole purpose of posting links?
Having a bot that analyzes a profile on facebook for activity and genuinity isn't that hard to code, so Google shouldn't be held back by that, so the quality of the profiles used might affect results as well.
