Penguin 2.0 | the rollout is now complete | what is your results?

All Keywords that had links built with Keyword in the anchor text took a dive - some big and some not so much.

Sites that went up - branded keyword anchor text.

That tells me what I needed to know.

Ok guys, so from everything I'm reading on all the forums is it a safe assumption amongst most that:
#1 anchor text links built with kws got hit?
#2 Sape still alive and well and now outranking many forms of the normal link building?
#3 Generic links or naked urls did not take a hit either?

That seems to be the unanimous opinion across the alot of the boards right now, would like to hear what you guys think and have seen.

Yep; I'm pretty much seeing the same thing - most of my clients are up, 1 or 2 down... our own website got SMASHED something bad... time to 301 & start a new domain I think.

When will you guys learn!! Everything is so freakin random. No one is safe and we will never really know what is working. Even if we did, the next update could wipe us out.

The whole basis around updates is to get people guessing. Keep creating more sites than Google can burn. This is the only way around it. I don't even look at the updates anymore. Don't have time to ;)

1 site down about 30 spots and 2 sites increased rankings pretty drastically for multiple keywords. These are all adsense sites.

Looking pretty good so far.

We'll see how things play out the next few weeks but anyone who has been in the SEO game for a while knows how this all works. Get ready to see a bunch of threads pop up with "OMG! Penguin 2.0 Released! Is link building dead?!" and services with titles like "Penguin 2.0 safe links!". These threads pop up after every new G update is released.

SEO is always evolving. ;)

All sites depend on SAPE Type Links Are Intact ....

All sites depend on Private Blogs Network Got Hit Badly ...

Is there a link somewhere to a discussion about what Panda 2.0 targeted?

Business as usual for me across my sites and one site got a great boost (knock on wood). But like others have said you never know with these fuckers, the first penguin wiped out my income and I had to get a real job for awhile. But this isn't a job for vajayjay's.

I'm just going to sit back and wait for all of the analysis to come in, then when consensus is reached, add new tools to my strategy box and maybe move some others around.

I really wonder if we are perhaps moving towards a no-anchor text strategy? Instead of relying on anchor-text, perhaps Google will just access the quality of your links period, and then rank your website for results that are relevant based on your site content? That is obviously not happening right now, but that sort of thing could very well be the way of the future. And, frankly, that seems easier to deal with.

I will just wait for more people to give their views on their rankings/traffic etc.

I have few sites on which i don't even do link building but didn't see any major change in ranking/traffic yet.

Will just wait for the update to roll out 100% as i don't believe matt cutt's lies..

Im doing local seo and all seems the same here. The normal float, up one or two, down one or two.

Google = bunch of hypocrites. If SAPE links to you that must mean great user experience. Meanwhile, content means zilch.

This update is somehow good for me as compare to other update
out of 50+ sites 2 sites get hit badly
first site is on ex back niche and in this site ahref showing no generic anchor text
Second site is a free site on clickbank product review it lost 100 spots in two keyword. In this site I bought bulk and cheap private network blogs (whois is not protected -- a big footprint). In this site i order some sape link 1-2 days ago I don't think site got penalty because of sape i think cheap private blog network is the main culprit.

Lost plenty of rankings. However, those sites haven't had links built to them in over a year, so it was only a matter of time. I guess I'll 301 them and build fresh new links to them in the coming days if there is no improvement.
