PBN or guestpost?

Hi,

For growing marketing agency which one should we majorly focus on PBN or guestpost? Also, i am having idea of creating own PBN network will it work?

Both has its pros & cons. if you want quick results then PBN is good, if you want long term result then Guest posts are good.
 
Some PBN and some guest posts. You want them both. PBN for fast & steady rankings. Guest posts for long term projects.

You should have all three: PBN, Niche Edits and Guest Posts. Get some strong domains and build out a 30 site PBN to power your site. Niche Edits are cheaper and get you more bang for your buck, so get 20 of those on some decent sites. For Guest Posts, go with the more expensive ones.

I'll say one thing, use your choice of anchors on PBNs, for Niche Edits and Guest Posts stay away from sites that are letting you use the anchors of your choice. There have been outbound link penalties given to sites recently. So be selective with your incoming links to not end up on link farms.
 
Always Guest posting is best because you know in which site are you gonna post but in case of PNB There is high risk of backlink from unknown site until you get backlink.
 
if i had to pick one itd be a guestpost on a site that gets traffic. pbns are a pita to manage unless you have multiple projects you are looking to promote, then it makes it worth the upkeep costs and effort.
 
I suggest PBN all time best to get fast results and even in rough time you can access them easily.
 
PBNs are much more robust if you know what you're buying. Cheaper alternatives aren't as promising as they claim.
 
In my opinion,

Guest posts - I will definitely say YES as its in the safer side when building backlinks

PBN - If you have low budget and want quick results, then PBN is the best choice. You have to be careful when buying PBN links, don't build spammy links. It will hurt your site

Own PBN network - Yes, its good choice for sure. But make sure you build in the right way. Use expired domains with good metrics. Don't leave any footprints

Combination of all the links, will work for sure :)

Guest Posts on the top quality websites such as Niche related sites with DA 30+ and good numbers of referring domains and traffic as well will be the fine option, it will give you long term results and you have to wait to see the complete impact. Whereas building your own PBN is the safest solution because you have control over the sites like adding more content, link to as many as sites including authority sites. The most essential part of having your own PBN is, you will get a link direct from the homepage and just 1 link to your website.

All in all, Just treat your own PBN sites as the real sites.

Build your own PBN if you know what you're doing and have money to invest in good domains. Otherwise, stay clear and stick with guest posts.

There is no answer to this question:
- PBN is more black hat than GP
- PBN must be maintained over time, not GP
- PBN is probably cheaper, and requires more skills...

I could go on, but this is not really the type of question to ask if you have no idea about it.
 
These advices apply for any single business, not only an agency. As a rule of thumb you should think in budget terms: if you are simply starting PBN are always cheaper and more profitable. But if you are 6 months in with a good amount of PBN and trying to go wider in relatively high competitive words, guest posts will be eventually cheaper since you might have burned the best PBN you might have found so far (or probably you would not be able to spot reliable opportunities without duplicating).

Building your own PBN is critical when building a SEO agency for multiple reasons... but the most important is the control you will have over your clients, it's overwhelming. A lot of SEO marketeres live just with this.
 
create your own PBN then you can be sure only you get the full link juice (how its supposed to be).
additionally you can get guest posts if its from high traffic sites as that could lead you some additional traffic.
 
I love all the people saying "pbns because they're cheap".

Have you guys even been on the auctions lately?

Good domains go for minimum $1000 and can easily reach $15k
 
For immediate results go with high quality PBN and for longer term sustainability go with Guest posts.
 
As many have said here, PBN will get you the quickest results but you want a good mix of them and Guest posts + Niche edits.

Personally, I built a lot of PBN links in the past and the great thing about that was the results, but it doesn't affect your vanity metrics like DA & DR which as a marketing agency it can be hard to convince client buy in, or visa versa if it's a site you're running, you won't attract as many guest posts for instance.
