PBN Linking Method - Case Study In Progress

Hey, I am still reading through this thread, made it to site 3 today. Great thread, thanks a lot for all the infos. Just a quick question. I released a brand new website last week. How long would you wait till you point the first PBN link to it? And how long does it usually take to rank a new website in a competitive niche? I see my competitor needed 1 year to get on #1. He started PBN links 6 months after release of his website.

And also I see that my competitor released all his 15 PBN links within 1 week (in 2015). I guess he wanted to make google think that it is a viral effect. What do you think about this strategy?

Edit: Oh, and I see a lot of PBNs don´t hide the dates of the posts. Is there any reason for this? I think that it would be better to hide it. My competitors posts were done in a time frame of 3-4 months in 2015 on each PBN. And since than nothing happened on those. Also I think it is unnatural to keep an old post sticky on every PBN you have.

And another one :)
When google does a manual review, do they check all (or strong) backlinks of a money site? Or do they just check PBNs from a fishy smelling hoster with lots of PBN?

I would take this decision depending upon the time the first 3 competitors took their time in reaching the rankings, say if the competitor took 1 yr to reach the rankings then I would wait 1/3rd of that time before adding the first links.

And how long does it usually take to rank a new website in a competitive niche? I see my competitor needed 1 year to get on #1. He started PBN links 6 months after release of his website.
He definitely seem to have a strategy going there. Anyhow, it makes sense to add links to any new site after 2-3 months of its launch except when they are in shady niches like hack, gambling etc

And also I see that my competitor released all his 15 PBN links within 1 week (in 2015). I guess he wanted to make google think that it is a viral effect. What do you think about this strategy?
Nope, that doesn't make any sense at all. Google counts links if they are good and from reliable source. They don't see how many were added as long as the links were of high quality and like 100 links were not added in 3 days for a thin affiliate in a totally uncompetitive niche.

Edit: Oh, and I see a lot of PBNs don´t hide the dates of the posts. Is there any reason for this? I think that it would be better to hide it. Old dates are not of any consequence as whether you write date or not Google knows when a post was published, so it do not make any sense to hide anything here. Of course, it makes sense to hide things from your competitors.

And another one :)

Let me tell you one thing. Google have the resources to check backlinks of a site and determine on the basis of their find the algorithm decides which one is natural/unnatural. But my find says they need to run this algorithm once in 3-4 months as it takes a lot of resources to do this. Also, if the algorithm is confused with a particular backlink then it gets flagged and will require further investigation by a real human. All this requires extra resources which can be very time consuming and resource crunching even for a mammoth like Google due to the sheer number of sites and niches online. This I discovered from sheer experience and the pattern of deindexation seen with sites.

I really thank the author of this article, the article has great significance for me, it just leads me to do better things for this life. Very meaningful, thank you very much, wish you happy.

I just finished reading page 6 and seen the discussion about full content posts on homepage. For me, this is the most unnatural thing on a website. I don´t know real websites that show full posts on their homepage. Don´t you guys and girls think that full posts on frontpages are screaming "PBN"? I know this is needed to transfer full juice but for me it is the strongest signal of a PBN. I checked tens of PBNs and each of them uses full posts. I can see it in seconds if that is a PBN or a real website, even though it is well done. I think to post an article and show the first 100 words that include the link to the money site is a bit more safe than showing the full post?

What makes me also wonder is, how can google even tell if a PBN is a PBN when they are well done? No single footpringt is given. I mean, I have money sites that link to other sites as well. So why do they not deindex them? Or there are people selling blogposts from their HQ money sites with lots of traffic. Why don´t they get deindexed? I mean especially this post:

That would be a waste of time
No PBN will ever pass manual review no matter how much these guru tards tell you. Just focus on the algorithm not catching you

By that I mean a PBN with lets say 10 posts on it and just linking to 1 money site and a few authority sites. Not PBNs that have 10 outgoing links to money sites.

EDIT: Ok I am through all 13 pages. Great information here!

Just 2 questions left.

1. You say you use the WP SEO Bad Bot Blocker. Do you simply activate it and its done? Does it then block ahrefs, majestic etc.? Since I´ve seen a spanish tutorial where he adds some other information or bots in the settings of BBB.

2. Do you mind sharing your 404 to 301 redirect php script? I am using a plugin that redirects all 404 but think that is a big footprint.

You are very right. When it comes to PBN that is most successful clue for Google. But then if you have 10-15 posts on homepage and you only have 5 links from 5 posts and all other posts are just money site content, it makes the job of Google all the more difficult.

TBH, I also agree with that post a lot. To make the kind of assumptions and the pattern of deindexation that we see it makes it clear most of them are algorithm based and there are hardly any manual reviews except when they have to take a big network down.

I simply acitvate the blocker with default settings and it blocks all major bots.

I would PM you that when I am on my PC.

Thanks for taking the time to read the whole thread. That is a task :D

Awesome, thanks a lot Sristy!

can you explain how you do your anchors from:

moneysite<PBN T1 < PBN T2 ?

do you keep your main # keyword for the moneysite in the title of PBN T1 ?

Some precious info in here, @Sristy! Reading everyone of your posts - you know what you're doing.

Target keywords are generously used in the articles, in titles, in the content, made as tag in the PBN etc. I used to link out main keyword anchors from T1 but since last one month or so i have changed this strategy a bit after the last few updates in 2 months in google. I have started diluting the anchor text a bit to make it point to brand/URLs and the good part is they still seem to hold the ranks even after almost 25-20 days of updating the anchors. I do not want the T1s to be hit with any penalty. I have even recovered few sites of my clients with this strategy and i have posted an update few posts above about this. I rigorously link with direct anchors from T2, though that also i would be diluting to some extent as the recent penalty by google seem to be only targeting PBNs for linking to direct anchors and that seem to be the methodology of their algo to find more about a PBN network. So, i have decided to make it more difficult for Google :D

Thanks, appreciate it :p

+1 for the linking strategy.I appreciate it. I am also in need to apply this sctructure to several projects after 8th march..
sadly.
though, I also try to dilute T2, just to be sure.

Just a quick question about anchors. If I want to rank my website for "best keyword" and "buy keyword" and google actually ranks both keywords for the homepage, how should I chose the anchortext in the PBN? I thought about using something like "you can buy best keyword here" or something similar? Since I only plan to point 2-3 PBN links to that site, I want to make the links as powerfull as possible.

Yes, your idea of using the longtails version of your keyword is the best method in the current scenario to let Google know your actual keyword without directly linking to them. Just ensure that the article and title co rain the exact match keywords but linking should be done to a longtail one.

Thank you for detailed information. Me and my 2 friends think to use you method. I will probably have questions :)

Web 2.0 derives the power from its original hosted domain. They are good links to start with. However you would need backlinks from expired/auction domains to get better rankings. Also check whether all your Web 2.0s are indexed as they are notorious for not getting indexed.
