PBN Linking Method - Case Study In Progress

It took exactly 4 weeks until the 3rd PBN link kicked in. It is a strong one and I paid some good money for it. I thought "man, what a waste" in the past 4 weeks. But yesterday it kicked in. The site jumped from #27 to #11 for an 15k keyword. The subpage was only 2 months old. I guess there must be an google filter for new posts too. Probably thats also a reason why it took that long. Back in the days, a new post was able to rank within days. Now they even put new posts in the sandbox for 1-2 months. At least in my experience.

What I wonder is, how much link juice do I miss when I use the PBN as a blog that does not show full posts? So no direct backlink from the home page. I have a feeling that it is a big footprint to show full posts and that they will start banning PBN with full posts soon.
Yes, 2 to 6 weeks is what i am seeing with sites that i am working on. A lot depends on how old are the sites holding top positions in this niche.

I have a question for a different site. 4-5 weeks ago I pointed 2 PBN links to a money site. Now 5 days ago I redirected that money site via 301 to a fresh registered domain (because the old domain name was very ugly). Rankings are not there yet. Can I already point one PBN to the new domain? Or should I point it to the old domain?

EDIT: And should I let them 2 PBN point to the old domain? Or change the links to the new domain? Not sure if there is a loss of linkjuice with that 301? I´ve read on Moz that you lose 15% juice but that post was from 2014 I guess.

Hi, thanks for the work. This is a very useful material.
-Why do you put just 1 link with the tier 1 on the money site? Why not for example 2-3 links from different articles.
-How long are you waiting for before you put the link from the dropped pbn to the money site? 2-3 weeks or immediately after registration put a link?
-Do you conduct testing for poisonous domains (pbn). If so, how?
-How many sites do you use for tier 2? (That is, from how many sites does the grid number 2 consist?)
-How many links did each pbn tier 1 receive with the tier 2?

I would have pointed the new links to new domain, no point in wasting it throigg a 301. Sorry to have missed your post.

I just try to be safe by pointing to one link from one article or one link from one domain rather than many. Jist that the PBNs should not look like a link farm.

I dont wait much, just let the article get indexed and then add the link. Generalky around 7 days within regn.

No, i dont do any tests for poisonous PBNs. Just ensure that there are no toxic links or content which existed earlier. Anchor texts given by majestic helps in doing this. Check archive for earlier content.

Tier 1 received around 8-15 links from tier 2. I just did it random and throttled it based on rankings of tier 1.

This one might be very interesting for the 2nd question - http://diggitymarketing.com/expired-domain-test/
That blogpost says 36 days, well any ranking increase since last few months have always been showing those many days or so to show up. I think that filter is for rankings and not for domains to index.

Sure, its for rankings. I´ve linked 2-3 pbn to my moneysite immediately after registering them and had no boost in serps. It took 2 months until the boost arrived. On my first PBN I posted articles on it and waited about 2 months until I posted a link to my money site. That gave my money site a good boost after only 5 days. Not sure if that is related in any way. Matt even says posting links on new PBN is toxic.

What I experienced the last 3 weeks is, I removed the mass 301 of 404 pages and my PBN´s started to rank. Also my moneysite became more powerful! Google says that mass 301 to home page is a soft 404 and no link juice will be transfered. I even guess you get penalized when you do a mass 301 to home page. I did that with a money site and all my rankings dropped for weeks. I removed the mass 301 and now all rankings are back!

I have a different question. I don´t want to point a lot of PBN to my money site to stay under the radar. So far I pointed 5 and I feel it starts to become unnatural. So I wonder, how much link juice will be transfered when I point a PBN as tier 2 to a stronger PBN as tier 1? I know you did that. But I am not sure if it is more powerfull if I point the PBN directly to the money site? Or use as tier 2?

I did not quite understand your idea (could you please explain to me).
You say that you posted a link to a new one (pbn) and after 2 months received an improvement in positions. But later you said that on 1 site you waited 2 months (before you post a link to a money site).
The question is, why wait 2 months before posting a link to a money site? If the result in both cases is no less than 2 months.

You´ve seen Matts post? -> http://diggitymarketing.com/expired-domain-test/

Hey, Nice journey with a lot of Infos. thanks

Q: How do you find Expired Domains ?

You´ve seen Matts post? ->
I was misled by your phrase (it took 2 months before the result was seen). That is, you created a website, waited 2 months, after which you posted a link to the money site. And in 5 days you got the result? Did I understand you correctly?
And you did not try to immediately place a link on the money site? Perhaps in 2 months the result will be the same?
Could you send me your email or a pseudonym in Skype? I would like to clarify some details. I will be very grateful.

I´ve waited naturally about 4 weeks after posting my first money site link on my first PBN. It seemed natural to me to wait a few weeks before I post a link to the money site. It took only 5 days to see results after posting the article with money site link. Same happened on 2nd PBN.
Since then (for 3rd, 4th etc. PBN), it always takes 1-2 months until I see results. Not sure if there was an google update in the last 2-3 months and that might be the reason why it takes so long nowadays.

On two PBN I immediately placed money site links and so far have seen no results (no positive, no negative). Was about 2 months ago I placed the links to the money sites. Both have great links and high DA/PA CF/TF.

Sorry mate I don´t have skype. I am no pro, I use PBN only for 5 months now. I hope other experienced people can answer your questions better.

Forgive me for my bad English, but I would like to clarify (I understood you correctly).
That is, you create a new PIN, wait 2 months after which you place a link to the money site. And after a month or two, the results become apparent. Right?
That is, in total, 3 months have passed since the creation of the new pbn. And do you test pbn on third-party sites using Matt Diggity technology?

1. I post an article on my PBN and let it age 1-2 months (until I need that PBN)
2. After 1-2 months I post a few articles (3-4) and in one of them I put the link to the money site.
3. So far the results were good but it usually takes 2 months until you see the final boost. So that is a total of 4 months (for me)
4. No I did no test so far but will try it with my next PBN since I think I also have one toxic PBN in my network

I would say take into consideration your competition, how many PBN links they hold to rank at where they are. That will give a rough idea as to how many more PBN links you need to send to your money site and if your tier 1 require more linkjuice to it. The case study here is in a tough health niche keyword and that is the reason i did a tier 2 of PBNs.

4. No I did no test so far but will try it with my next PBN since I think I also have one toxic PBN in my network
What test did you carry out to find out the toxic one ?

What type of keywords would hurt pbn ? LSI ,Longtail keyword and any other ...

What test did you carry out to find out the toxic one ?

No test but I posted an article on that PBN 3 months ago and still had no movement. Then I sold one backlink from that site 1 month ago and his site also did not move one spot. It has PA 45 / DA 36 / CF34 / TF 15. I know Trust flow is a bit low but it is a very strong domain with over 300 links from different ip adresses.

Thank you very much for your response. Now I understand everything. I have another important question for me. For example, I have several good domains in the subject - sports. I want to use them for a money site in a theme - music. Do I need to change the theme of my pbn and wait 2 months? Or I can immediately change the topic of pbn and put a link to the money site.

I want to understand what is important here, the age of the domain from 2 months after registration? Or it is important that the site matches the topic (money site) for at least 2 months.
