You can use any anchor, but usually people prefer exact mach (with variations like partial match, long tail or LSI), just so that you maximize the link juice, as PBN are usually the strongest links you will get, especially homepage PBN.What anchors do you use for pbn links?

Great question for a survey? anywhere from few days to few weeks for a strong PBN I would think. How long it takes to see movements these days?
Yes good point; but here is one reason why you would want to use "strong links exact, weak links brand".From what I have been seeing for the past few years, I really don't think that anchors have much of an effect on SEO. The rule of "strong links exact, weak links brand" is a total crap imo. Benefit from it is minimal and you can easily overoptimize yourself. Risk:reward ratio is catastrophic. We know (don't we?) google recently has started ignoring weak links, such as spam; this is what some SEO have been writing about, real time penguin, bad links are simply ignored and you do not get penalized for them anymore, etc...something along those lines.
But then where is the red line, how do you know a link is counted or not? You don't. Will PBN links be counted? Depends which, but if you have a strong homepage link from a clean (indexed) domain, why would it not be counted (after all it is a homepage, not an archived page 4 clicks down)?
Hence good (homepage) PBN links are believed to be counted, and we might as well use a targeted anchor. But then you need many other links just to dilute your anchor profile, so you will have to have weaker links, and what anchors to use for these? less important as they may not count, so use URL or so.
Just my 2 cents.

Of course you have to build your anchor distribution the correct way, this is why I said:

I feel sad reading this :-(
Anchor text matters A LOT, depending upon the keyword all you need on the first 2-3 months (for new websites) is some (web 2.0, social links ) for link and anchor text diversification, on the third month I send 2 or 3 exact match anchors and easily jump to top 4 withing the next 2-3 months without doing anything else.
PS: Yes you can destroy any website specially new ones if all you do is homepage links with anchor text, but saying that: (anchors have much of an effect on SEO) is not true at all.
Looks like Google already got into you, you are not using homepage links and not using exact match anchors anymore![]()
