Paypal requesting ID

hi to everyone here ,

good day .

im a newbie here and would like to ask about paypal account.

i have been using a paypal account for the last 2-3 years for selling stuff online

but the thing is my account isnt in the country of origin i am from .

now paypal is stating

In compliance with regulatory requirements, they need some additional information to confirm my identity as the account owner. Please confirm identity at dashboard .

they are requesting for my national ID , which is not the current country I am residing in .

I do not have a national ID of the current country i am residing in....

if i send them my national ID , will they ban my account ?

will they report to my country that i have been selling items overseas and i have revenue ?

its not much though . as i sell the stuff part time .

can anyone please advise >?

hi ! did you send your id in to paypal ? Im concerned what they might do ,its strange as i been selling on line for past 2 -3 years without issue .

First of all it's not nothing serious.

They don't contact your country. Even its 3rd world country no way.

2nd you can submit fake documents there are tons of sellers in market place there.

Or you can withdraw your funds and create a new account. if its limited wait 180 days and you can withdraw.

It's not something to worry.

If you created it with real information but wrong country you can even submit your real information and tell them you created while you on there and now living here..etc.. you can even call. Many guys doing where pp not available. It's very common and world has lot of crime guys..This is not a crime at all

hi Tim thanks for the response . So i can just call them and tell them I am in country B now , even though my ID is showing country A ?

will they change my paypal account to the country i am originally from ? cheers

You can contact paypal that you have change your residing country. They should ask for some documents and you will be good to go. Don't worry about it.

They do that from time to time. I've been using PayPal since 2003 and they ask me to upload the documents at least 3-4 times.

If you're still able accessing your account and you didn't register with your own contact and information, you need to update your profile. Change your name, add your address (similar with what shown on your ID), prepare another document like electricity/phone bills that have your name and address (similar with your ID address), then submit the documents.

would it be possible to show them my country A ID , for country B i dont have ID as I havent got a place with an address yet ....

They just want an ID that has your photo (real or not), for verification purposes. I do not think they verify the information with the government or anything, but most likely, once sent to them, they will most likely keep that information in their database and nothing more. You can also try sending utility bills to them for verification (and if you are good enough in photoshop, you can get one done as well)

damn ... i wish i knew more .. i havent sent in the ID yet as i worried they might change the paypal account from country A to country B which is something i dont need

paypal limit my account and asking for any verification like bank statement,etc.
I already send but never get approved, and now, I never use paypal again.

maybe you should choosing other payment xD

They wont know its a fake document that is if you get quality anyway. Don't over think it , the guy on the other side is not a superman, he is just going to check it like a normal human being , he has no way to verify or prove that its fake unless you send an obvious fake.
If you not comfortable with fake documents just call them as others have said above
