Hi am also Indian. Never asked any documents at time of registration.

I have an old paypal account, but I also have got a mail to submit documents and verifiy again with mobile.
I haven't done anything yet, still it is working fine.

PayPal picked up Simility, a fraud prevention technology company, for $120 million few days ago... The reason?

That is normal, even if you are on another region PayPal will still ask from you that info.
How many days did PayPal tell you when the account will be verified? Usually takes 21 days or less.

May be , but this is very annoying.

Just FYI, your screenshot has a tracking number at the bottom, and any PayPal employees who come across your post will easily tie this thread back to your account.

You should be able to edit your post to remove the screenshot entirely, and it wouldn't hurt to delete the screenshot from the image host as well, if you still have the deletion link.

It looks like it depends from your country. A friend of mine opened a new PayPal like a week, no documents were requested.

Yes, some countries are more risky for fraud to Paypal than others, based on the statistics they see from their side. Just make sure your docs are in order, for whenever it is they request them.
