PayPal Negative Balance - Help!

I received a payment from someone through PayPal, and a few days after that, I withdrew the balance from my account, as I don't like to keep any $ in it, as we all know how unpredictable they can be.

Today, I received another payment from the same person, and PayPal now have held both payments, because they suspect something about the buyer, but I've already withdrew one of the payments, so my account has a negative balance.

It's so ridiculous that I'm being charged for their mistake, but I suppose that teaches me for using PayPal, so I'm never using them again.

My bank account and debit card is attached to my PayPal account, and they will try to recoup the negative balance from my bank/debit card in a week's time.

I can't remove my bank or debit card from my PayPal account, so I'm wondering.....what should I do?

I'm thinking just ring my bank and say "my PayPal account was hacked, and has my bank and debit card attached to it". Then, hopefully they'll be able to unauthorize PayPal from taking anything from my bank/debit card.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I was in the same position as you a couple of months ago - with my bank account tied to my paypal with a negative balance. I just left it alone. After a few months, some collection agency will come after you telling you to pay. It's up to you what you want to do after this. But, there is no way they can withdraw money from your bank account without authorization.. at least that's what I think.

I had a similar situation earlier in the year, where someone on ebay charged back, and I had a negative balance, but that time, I only had my debit card connected to PP, so I phoned my bank and said I lost my card, so they cancelled that one and issued me a new one. PP couldn't get to me then, and after a few months, my negative balance turned back to zero.

I haven't had my bank connected with a negative balance before, so I'm not sure if I should just do nothing, but I don't want to get charged by my bank.
