Help PLEASE! I have an account on paypal with money on it. By mistake I have picked the wrong country during registration. Countries can't be changed. All other info is correct, but can't confirm it since I am in a different country.
What is the best course of action ? What should I do? What would you do? Thanks in advanc

e.Your account has been limited for more than 45 days. It will continue to be
limited but you now have the ability to withdraw funds.

Contradiction below. - although I have the option of withdrawing to a card. But the card has to be from the country I registered and on my name address etc.

What can't I do while my account is limited?
  • send money
  • withdraw money from your account
  • receive or request money
  • close your account
  • add money to your account
  • remove a card
  • remove a bank account
  • send refunds
What can I do while my account is limited?

  • update your account information
  • add a card
  • add a bank account
  • use PayPal logos in your auction listings or on your website

If this is a real account that uses your real name I would recommend calling PayPal and telling then what happened. Get back to me with the status of your account and we will go from there.

But is it smart to tell them that everything on my account information page is correct, and confirm that I am the owner of the account, and then tell them the only wrong piece of information is the country. And it has been 3 years like this and I haven't contacted them - wouldn't they get suspicious? - I can confirm all info - but I don't know what to answer to these questions if they ask:

How could have you picked wrong country ?

Why haven't you contacted us earlier ?

Yes at this point you have nothing to lose, so just tell that that. Worse case scenario find someone from that country to cash it out for you and pay them a fee.
