Dang! Ok so here what just happened. my partner and I own a site in where people buy VoIP credits and prepaid loads for several places in the world. So we have chargebacks and whatnot. There's this chargeback that was once closed and re-opened by paypal again asking us for additional information! They have taken the money from our account already and yet here it goes again ! Opened ! Here's the complete set of what happened:

Apr 12, 2011 PayPal Case under review
Apr 12, 2011 PayPal Counter-claim received from card-issuer
Apr 8, 2011 PayPal Case closed
Apr 8, 2011 PayPal No funds transferred from seller's account
Apr 8, 2011 PayPal Unable to dispute on seller's behalf
Apr 8, 2011 PayPal Email sent to seller
Apr 8, 2011 PayPal Case under review
Apr 8, 2011 PayPal Counter-claim received from card-issuer
Mar 22, 2011 PayPal Email sent to seller
Mar 22, 2011 PayPal Funds recovered from seller
Mar 22, 2011 PayPal Chargeback disputed
Feb 26, 2011 PayPal Email sent to seller
Feb 26, 2011 PayPal Email sent to buyer

paypal sucks and you lost your money, sorry to say small chance you ever see it back
 
Paypal is more of a problem for sellers than buyers. They will screw up people from time to time, don't think there is much you can do here

When you have a partnership thing, or business venture, you should deal with wires and checks. Although large amounts of cash can travel in and through Paypal, its mostly a joke in regards to transferring money.
 
PayPal are like the Google of internet payment gateways, they are so big that they really don't give a rats arse. You may want to check and see if Google Checkout is a better payment option for u, I know, another Google operation, but there is definately less fraud and chargebacks with them. I use both.
 
sorry to see Gay pal taking from you. I had them do this to me too many times when i was selling on egay so had to give up with them. there are specific other site/forums that maybe able to advise you on a course of action. good luck

I don't touch paypal anymore, they're a joke. For certain products where 90% of my buyers want to pay with paypal balances I use plimus which lets me accept paypal without having an account.
 
This is one of the reasons I don't like to accept paypal, best thing to do is this...use plimus and a merchant account in conjuction, merchant account for normal cc's and plimus for the paypal users.
 
merchant account is a better way to go why earn all that money just to have gaypal take it away.

paypal froze my account and denied to recieve my payments simply because i logged into it while out of the country. i sent them a passport and a drivers license and they wouldn't accept them because they had not been issued within the previous six months. i literrally had to come back to the country and get new shit from the dmv. that will never happen again.

Yea merchant account is def the way to go, it's golden..see what most people don't understand when people file disputes with a REAL merchant the bank actually look into the case. I win 9 out of 10 chargebacks if there fraud. That's the big reason for venomseo, I have a site policy and refund policy on the site, so if someone ever tried to file a fraud chargeback I just simply fax over the site agreement which a customer chose to agree to, and the dispute is honored in the merchant favor.
 
I hate PayPal too, but I lost my merchant account to a cash advance on my cards, so I have to use them now.

I just recently woke up to find my account limited simply because my wife logged into her account from the same IP. Jerks.

thtz y i like moneybookers they are not as much famous as paypal but still they have great support
 
Yeah, what everyone else said... they suck! I have had problem after problem with them. Their customer service is just horrible and if you call them, normally you will get a different answer from every rep you talk to.
 
the only thing you can do it refund the money, you can ask the person who deposited to your account to refund the money.
