So I just started selling on ebay about 1 month ago and did about $500 total sales. And I received a notification from paypal asking me to upload photo of SSN and ID. I'm wondering what will happen if I do not upload those documents.

The notification look like this: To help keep your account secure, please provide documents that confirm your identity. If you’ve already added them, thanks. We’ll email you once we’ve reviewed them.

My paypal and ebay are US account.

They will verify that you are a real person and all that. As far as I know they don't check if you have valid documentation, they just need to look real

They have not send me any warning for limitations whatsoever, should I just wait. I only use this paypal for receiving payments from ebay, then it gets transferred to my bank within hours. I will never trust them seeing so many post about paypal holding money.

If you will fail to upload the documents they will send you another email, and probably a notification of time until you will need to send those documents.

Do you not have these documents or don't want to share them with paypal?

Paypal verifies the SSN against the name and date of birth. If you used a random SSN, you have a serious problem.

If you open a real pay account, you have nothing too worry about just submit the documents.

Hello.
First make sure the letter is REALLY from PayPal and not from scammer email.
Also like others said, if you have real business and you have valid docs then nothing to be afraid..

I had my PP account limited for 8 years i guess, im not from US and i didnt bother and i didnt care much, i was doing other things in my life.
Now i started internet business and i wanted to make account good again.
Writing them is useless, all you get is automatic answers of similar kind..

What i did instead, is that i wrote them on FB Messenger about my problem and wrote them the CASE ID or something which i saw in my account.
I said that please review my account and if needed i can resubmit my docs.
They wanted also my photo ID, address proof etc. because im not from USA then i had problems finding good docs. I have no bills etc with my name..
So i photographed my drivers license for PHOTO ID and for address proof, i sent them a "residential proof letter" in PDF format from my local Tax and Customs office. It had my name, address, specific stuff and confirmation and stamp and signature etc..
All in english.

My 8 year old limitations were removed instantly. I didnt have to even write them again that please review now!
The guys/girls from PP in messenger were very kind.

Now my PP is good again.

In short: if anybody has problems getting contacted to PP, use FB Messenger.
I dont speak english perfectly so calling them is NO for me.
Hopefully my post is useful to somebody

Same thing happened to my account. Seems like there’s no way of accepting money without uploading the documents.

They kept sending me notifications and emails for awhile. I think this problem occurred when I switched my personal account to a business account. However, one day they started to hold my money. My advice to you is create a new account.

So the new account doesnt have to be stealth and you can use the same info right?

I’m not so sure about that mate. Actually this happened to me like 1 week ago and now I’m using wife’s PayPal. As long as you can verify your new account, I think it’d be fine.
