Can PayPal take money from my bank account which I have connected if I don't have money on PayPal for a chargeback?

I want to know because I'm dealing with a lot of scammers lately.

If someone charges back, I think your balance becomes negative. Not 100% sure about it though. However, I'm 100% they can't take money directly from your bank account

Nope, they'll sell your case to a collection agency if you don't cover the negative balance.

Thanks, guys. That's what I needed.

yes they can, its happen before, if they ever make an error too then will take it from your bank even if you remove it they will try.... So best to close your account down, if its a legit bank account and its attached to your address they will send it to "Collections"

Now, this is something else. This scares me.

It also depends on the amount.
My old PayPal went on negative balance for 170$ last year after someone scamed me and opened a dispute and won it (like always), and despite having money on the bank acc attached they didn't do nothing, no asking for the money, no sent to collections nothing at all... However if I try to login to that account now it says that something went wrong.

However I use a new PayPal with the same bank and name attached, received over 10k$ there and no issues at all.

I've heard that for large amounts they can send collections to get their money back.
