Parasites PWN! - Leeching From Authority Sites = $$$$

But should I expect more traffic soon? Is the Google keyword tool really accurate? Is it possible to find KWs with high monthly searches that just won't give me the traffic I expect?

Yeah I get clients with this issue all the time actually, rank keywords then the traffic they expected doesn't come even sitting at #1, sometimes traffic can be seasonal too, that is a shitter if it's ranked but the traffic expected isn't there!

Hey I finally got my first parasite to #1 :D

The kw has around 10k monthly but I only get like 5-10 hits per day

It's #1 according to serpbook but does it take some time to make it #1 for everyone or how does it work?

Why is the traffic that low?

The MS # in the KW planner shows the average amount of the past 12 months. For example, if the keyword has 109,000 searches in January while in the other 11 months it's only 1000, the average MS is going to be 10,000. It's important to also check the amount of searches of each month to date to get an understanding of the trend it follows.

Spot on, as I said seasonal could be the issue, more indepth checking on monthly traffic might help you gauge what's going on.

The downside of most parasites is we can't actually track how much traffic lands on the parasite page only when they click through. If you're able to edit it still maybe try placing your link in different positions could be you're not getting them to click through?

Well it's too late to edit it but the link is close enough to the beginning and is a "call to action".

You think the traffic will go up or should I abandon it? It's only been #1 on serpbook for ~a week

Well for a 10k keyword I think the #1 site gets roughly about 33% CTR, so per day that would be about 110 clicks (visitors) to the parasite page.

And if the parasite page is not optimized properly, I think you will end up with a low CTR from the parasite page to your site.

Since you can't have analytic data of that parasite page, you can only check what's incoming on your site, so it would be a guess.

I would give it some more time to see if anything improves. But I think there are many factors that come into play as well, type of audience, niche, the parasite site itself, etc.

Hi tommy, I have a question, if you don't mind, and if it has been already answered, I apologize profoundly.

If I use a custom domain with Blogger (so no redirect), in your experience, doest it still count as being a parasite, due to pointing to the authority site IP?

Cheers mate for the great tutorial!

Yeah but still, I'm getting like 3 clicks per day

I've changed the 301 directly to the offer now, lets see if the CTR goes up

I started a brand new parasite page 32 days ago to see how fast I could rank. Many thousands of backlinks later and some social signals, my parasite is now on page 1 for all 5 keywords in a very competitive health niche. Just love this method!

Great results,

Few questions -

1) Can you share stats of the parasite you used? (Not exact but like 70+ DA, 30+ TF etc)
2) How many words content you used?
3) Did the parasite provide ******** or nofollow link?
4) What kind of results you saw after 1 week of blasting links?

I would appreciate if you can answer these.

thanks.

Hey t0mmy,

Just wanted to chime in and say thanks to you for starting that thread. It actually was a trigger for me to start a parasite project which turned out to be extremely successful.

Thanks so much! Have a virtual hug from me, lol.

warm regards,

Is it possible for a parasite to get penalized within a month? I was shiwing up on page 2 for a couple of weeks. Added another round of links and now im gone frm the serps.. Or is it google dance? Any way to know for sure?

I use Google trends to set my traffic expectations. It's massively useful. It wont show you the exact volume, but if you know the average searches in a year, you can get good estimates.

It's surprising how seasonal some niches are. Stay up top and I'm sure you'll get more traffic :)

I have sometimes dissapeared from the serps for over a week, then the page comes back strong. You could well be experienceing Google dance!
