That's helpful, I don't do much SEO so tend to just check Google Analytics the next day. I'll see if I can figure out how to setup Rank Tracker to automatically update me if any of my/client sites get hit.

The dust will settle in a few days, but I always get this sinking feeling when updates are rolled out. So far everything is stable with my sites which is a good sign.

Yeah, I think we're probably a couple of weeks away from seeing the full effects so I'm keeping a close eye for now.

I wish more newbies would heed this advice from a senior member. Those "update threads" look like that other forum... "OMG I lost one position. Fucking Google!" "Oh fuck it's back!! I love Google! "

It's just ridiculous. Give it 2 weeks, *then* start drawing any conclusions.
 
I am hoping that it would bring my competitor's site down, it would be really awesome for me :p Thanks for sharing mate :)
 
2 of my blogs in private network was banned yesterday. They was 2 years old with 1000 of spun articles posted. Looks like this panda will hit the sites, that autoapprove articles or site's that don't really care about the content posted on them (again). Also I think that this update is new database on foreign languages. I hope my self hosted private network will be OK.

Excellent sources, thank you! I saw some fluctuation with one of my sites, but it was tough to tell because at about the same time I made quite a few changes to it.
 
All my rankings have jumped up today, but I've also been tweaking the on-page factors slightly, so I'll wait a few weeks before I give credit to the Google Animals ...

Btw MeatHead: your "100$ dollar a day method" w/ Google Alerts, way back, was how I started making money online.

Just set a schedule to run daily and mail you the reports. Best thing you can do, there are no alerts on that tool. Would be nice tho.

What a lot of people are confused about is panda 4.0 is coming out but last week a payday loans spammy niche update ALSO came out. So 2 updates at almost the same time are confusing a ton of people.

I tend to keep going regardless. Only time I might reassess is if it was a relatively new project that got destroyed by an update - might be worth scrapping in that case!
