Panda 2.5 - Were you affected? Let's figure out why! Questionnaire

nope, not an EMD...though his domain name contains the keyword (but I also have the keyword in my domain name)

I thought mine was effected by Panda and gave a shot at the survey ... all my answers have less percentage of votes and my site is now getting up in SERPS and wasn't hit by panda and it had effect of some backlinks which made the site do a dance in SERPS anyway Panda have no effect on perfectly done SEO ...

Great set of data in this thread. Hopefully more people will respond so there will be a bigger sample size.

You're a smart man... Brilliant! Get people to fill out the survey and then contact them with your solution. I only wish I thought of this myself!

Actually that's pretty trashy and not the point of this thread, but thanks for playing. If you looked at the form/questionnaire you'd see that it doesn't ask for email or ANY information anywhere, but obviously you didn't.

Having said that, I'm back from a trip and provide further info if needed. I CAN drill down to each persons questionnaire if needed, although I provided a general overview image for now.

What do you guys think based off of the data already?

The first question in the survey should be

How did panda effect your websites:

A. Improved rankings
B. Rankings stayed the same
C. Worsened rankings

You are right, I should have setup conditioned questions but unfortunately didn't have the ability to do that with the free questionnaire. If someone has a paid account with a forms/questionnaire site I'd be happy to redo this with even better conditional questions for better analysis.

Great survey, I think you should add how many affiliate links vs content ration. Or how many adds or affiliate links that have on pages that got affected. Also if they cloak their links, that could be really helpful.

posted my results on the survey. encourage the rest to do the same

Thanks for putting together this survey. I have been out on Holiday only to return to Panda two and a half taking down some of my biggest sites.

Luckily it only effected about 10% of my sites and gave me a good opportunity to compare sites that weren't hurt to sites that were.

I'd recommend adding one question to your survey - Does your site have clear navigation.

All my sites are Wordpress based, vary in domain age from 1 - 4 years, shared hosted, 100% unique content, have affiliate and adsense banners, and have a ton of good and "bad" links.

The common factor I noticed in sites that were Panda slapped (this time) is that my sites didn't have a clear navigation area.

I've changed the themes of my problem sites to include a main navigation area. Hopefully this will beat this Panda update. I'll try to remember to update this thread if I see a noticeable difference.

Hope this helps.
