Probably going to get flamed for this + get a load of scammers on here but thought i'd try.

I'm sure you've all heard about someone who "knows someone" at facebook and charges people to get their pages verified.

I happen to know someone who got a page verified for someone I know personally, but he says he's now lost his contact...

Just wondering if there are any other people out there who can do it and what's involved.

Last time I checked nothing happens that is to your benefit when you do this. Think of it like being with the government

I seriously doubt this, take it this way anyone that works at Fb in a position to do this, is paid really well and has a good and stable thing, why do you think they would jeopardise that even for a decent amount. And on top of that do it with random people online that he doesn't know and trust?

Why do they need to "trust" page owners? I assume it'd just be a matter of putting them in connection with the RIGHT person/team.

Like I said, someone I know personally received help from someone online a couple of months ago. Unfortunately this guy went MIA.

you need to trust them because as per their contract they are not allowed to do that and they might even get sued for doing it so if anyone tells what they are doing they're toast.. just my 2c on this..

Alright, well I wasn't really asking for a debate as to whether it was possible. I was asking if there's anyone here that has a friend who has a friend who has a friend ;)

I've seen it first hand be possible and I've heard a number of these stories in the past.

When you do what? Get verified you mean? My understanding was your reach would potentially grow a little. It makes sense that the feed would give you a slight edge over non-verified community pages.

Of course this is under the assumption you're producing good content ;)

I have a verified page, it does not effect reach. In fact I would not be surprised if it made it worse. However when you comment on your own things or like it will give it a boost.

For me the only advantages I see in having this is:

-Adding Spotify, RDIO, and other streaming/stores.

    -The blue check...

-Facebook mentions (honestly it's just like page manager with a couple of other features)

-Others seem to take you more seriously.

Other than that not much different but I am glad I have it. I got it by filling out the form on there site..

(Speaking of this, anyone know how to get a Twitter verified?)

another advantage is if you are an illustration artist:

if you create artworks for actor or some comic illustration like iron man and comment the pics with your verified page on hugh jackman new postings then your comment will be the first one of the other 10k comments.
i am trying to get a verified account with my art page of this reason. it will be easier to be recognized as an illsutration artist like "Toni Mahfud" "Inga Semisow" etc and a lot more.

There is supposedly a form accessible by a minority and it's bit like Facebook's request form. You have to get someone with access to that form to request verification for you. If you search "tei hodges twitter verify" on YouTube, you'll see what I mean.

Yeah, you can comment on larger pages. And it will bring traffic and likes to your page. But if you do it to much you will lose your check. I had it happen, luckily my friend got it back for me..

How much is too much? Was it treated as spam?

Yes, it was on the report as spam, they probably thought I was botting. I was commenting a lot on many pages. This was when the form first came out and no other pages we're commenting so I was getting like 1k+ likes a day on my page.

But my friend who works for FB got it back by investigating and letting them know they we're legitimate comments. (Which they we're)

A lot of people we're probably reporting my page as spam. (When I had messages enabled on page people would message me and say they we're going to report my page as spam with fake accounts to get my check removed, they started saying this after I got it back again, I am not worried about it now, my check is not going to go away.)

But honestly I don't comment on posts unless it's a good post to comment on. Examples:

    1. They posted it within 10 minutes
    2. A picture with no links
    3. No links
    4. No words in the pictures
    5. Basically I'll only comment on the post if I feel it is going to reach well for they're audience and it is a new post.

Another thing I don't comment on the same people to often I switch it around.

    But whatever works for you.

I usually only do 1-2 comments a day.

The real reason for this is yeah the likes and everything are great. But it is still hard to turn them into "fans" a lot of these people are from 3rd world counties I have noticed. It's random. Nothing against that. But they do engage well, especially on pictures of me, if I post music or something like that which will already have a lower reach it will engage ok with them. But I also have my "real" fans engaging as well. Which helps. I honestly may stop commenting on pages. I am still thinking about it. Because they seem only interested in pictures for the most part, but I have turned some of them into real fans who actually support my music. It is what it is. You know. I could go on.

Thanks for that. I've been doing the same as you really, commenting on things worth commenting and trying to add some discussion or something constructive other than "nice" which a lot of people do.
I've noticed this happening a lot so I've hidden my page from the main culprits which are Bangladesh, Brazil, Egypt, India, Pakistan and Turkey. They liked my page and then did nothing.

Just had a very interesting email discussion with said Tei Hodges.
After i refused to pay for verification via a platform i had never heard of, he/she decided to send me a fake fwd email from twitter support saying that my account had been blocked from their verification program. Apparently he/she would have the ban lifted if i paid $300 :lmao:

Haha obvious scammer right there. Guess that form isn't real after all.
Edit: Just went on YouTube to check out this 'Tei Hodges' again and couldn't find the user or video anymore. But I did find another user with similar profile picture and near identical video under the name 'Angela Taft'. I think they're the same person...
