I think it was not done maliciously, though could have unfortunate results.

I love the way the thread starts off funny
... then a few flames come
... then a few flamers flame each other
... then there is a wildfire, buring out of control
... then it burns itself out
... then it becomes funny again
... and even supportive

Makes me all warm and tigly inside. (Or the rum, maybe)

well, the original title of the thread was talking about someone else being a scammer. think it might have been harro, but oxenbeef was just joking around. to keep the story short, oxenbeef got trolled hard by a mod, and the title is what you see now.
