Own private blog network worth the costs?

Tough decision here... I own a private generic network, and a dedicated one in Payday loans... but I can't say I'm satisfied with the results.
I am still doing a lot of testing however... but I dropped at least $4000 on my network, ASEOHosting Ips.... aged domains etc. We'll see if it was worth it soon.

You shouldn't be using aseohosting etc.

I have over 15 SEO hosts and 15+ shared accounts for relevant networks...

I have unique DNS on all my domains on and off ASEO. I mainly bought ASEO for my payday loans network but have been slacking lately.
If I'm using ASEO for generic I only do PR4+ as to not waste my time / money.

i might be new here but i am not new to ranking sites. links from blog networks, an lets get specific here: a blog network from PRNA's on the same hosting is differnet than a blog network consisiting of PR5+ aged with links from Wikipedia and CNN -

Building a network from scratch is extremely expensive, time consuming etc
Not sure that would "ease" the expenses much.
You still have a yearly renewal cost on 4k blogs (assuming you average $1/mth per IP, and use 2 domains per IP) of $56,000
This isn't even factoring in the actual expenses that you'd incur on top of this. Especially if you use unique content (which you should be doing)

Since this is the third blog network I have owned after building and selling two prior. Yes it does save quite a bit. It will shave off thousands off your start up price.

Saving money vs bleeding cash for starting up a blog network. hmmmm

Whether you bleed it via not doing other more valuable things with your time, or whether your bleed it by paying someone... you bleed it.
I have a handful of sites, built from fresh domains, which have PR1, but DAs of 67+... it's not always a simple task to generate PR, though it works most of the time (up to PR3)

Well... I outsource everything and all those costs are absorbed by cpa sites built specifically for my outsourcing budget. And those are sites built from 08. So free labor at its best. So I guess my time is used quite usefully for eating grapes and watermelons while my employees work through the night.

No doubt, though this really has nothing at all to do with my point regarding having networks that you use only for your own sites being very poor investments.

You need a blog network solution that will allow you to randomly grab the set amount of blogs you wish to post to and have it done randomly.
I have 3 sites to an ip so factor in ip costs. Paying for unique content initially to get spun and pushed through your network. The amount of domains is up to you and what you are trying to do with your network. Its a good idea and just smart business to have a good mixture of all domain extensions to reduce your footprints. So don't be afraid to grab anything besides a .com, net, org to build up your network and to push diversity.
