Dear Fellow Entrepreneurs,

Take pity on this poor soul. Trying to get started here and have no idea how to even take the first step. I know it involves a website, niche etc. But what host to choose and why and ???????

Do I just take a Udemy course? Which one?

Do I just do the free stuff over at affilorama?

Any trustworthy youtube sources?

Please steer me in some kind of direction I'm struggling!!

In my opinion, to not get overwhelmed you need to get more into action. Get a method (any method) and work on it. Then start switching small things. It may take you a couple of months till you get your online income rolling, but you will get it. No need to be overwhelmed.

Just pick a method that looks doable and promising to you and take action.

find 1 and only 1 guide here stick to eat and a time limit like 2months working only on that method, by that time you can see improvements or its going to fail you should have had learned a lot, start tweaking stuff from what youve learned

Action Action, ok I can dig that. Let me look into the a guide here....

In my opinion, the best place to start is with social media. ie: instagram & twitter, here you can promote affiliate links & products and it's free.

Once you start growing a name for yourself and making a bit of income then would be a good time to go ahead and start working on making a website and growing an email list :)

You can start doing some freelance jobs at fiverr.

Otherwise, you can start growing some social network accounts in various niches and adding affiliate links later on.

But as other fellas say here, don't over think and act!

Good luck!

Proly hates social media, dunno why. Don't even own a personal Twitter or Instagram account.

Don't do anything for the first month. Just read guides and journey and at the end of the month then you can decide what you want to do.

I say this because whatever you do you have to invest a lot of time and money into it and IM is like catching butterflies. When you think you've spotted the perfect butterfly, you go out chasing it only to spot an even more beautiful butterfly a few moments later.

In the end, you'll just be running from butterfly to butterfly not getting anything done.

You don't want to do this.

What you want to do is learn about each strategy to making money online and then decide on the one you know you'd do best and mix it up with other strategies/guides/methods you read up on.

Good luck op

Try to focus on research first. Research on what you want to know until you understand it. Don't go skipping from one topic to another without fully understanding the previous one. Or as the others mentioned, check the threads here for doable methods. Pick that one, do some research. Then execute PROPERLY.

Sounds to me like you have the all too common case of "paralysis by analysis". You need to THINK(sink) OR SWIM bro!
Don't just look for anything that is appealing to you if it all seems appealing.
Do you have a budget?
Do you have any experience already with something?
Is there a specific niche or business task(s) that fit your current lifestyle?

I can answer yes to all those and I have some graphic & music abilities but just a beginner at web building ( do you all use wordpress?) but you are absolutely right, its paralysis by analysis!

I think you need to be clear and set a specific goal. Whatever you may decide your goal is, may involve steps that you need to follow.
What do you want? what are trying to accomplish?
-Do you want to make money online? There are several methods and each one of them works as people are making money off them. Look at the making money forum on the left side
-Do you want to learn SEO and how to rank a website? Again there are several methods that need a lit bit of work.

It is up to you. If you do not know where to starting and are genuinely interested, send me a message I may be able to help out.

Graphics and music will always sell bro. You could browse places like fiverr to get an idea of services that revolve around graphics and music if that's what you can see yourself doing for money.
I use Wordpress for most of my websites. I would recommend getting comfortable with it.

My 2 cents:

1. Decide what you want to do with the website: e-commerce, blog, something else?

2. This can help you get inspiration for your niche (not necessary drop shipping, you can just use it for inspiration)

3. Make or pay someone for a keyword research to get hundreds of low competition long tails in your niche (this is in case you want to rank in search engines, otherwise, you have to use social media to drive traffic).

4. Buy a good .com/.net/.org domain. Good means with a clean history. Possibly brandable or EMD.

6. Don't invest yet in things you may find for free, since you don't know what is going on, yet. For example hosting. Get a free VPS from Amazon for 1 year. After that year you will know what your site is capable of.

7. Make perfect on page SEO

7.5 Provide high-quality content, whatever you do, regularly.

8. Start your off page SEO (this is something a little more difficult)

P.S You will probably fail with your 1st website but you will remember it for it will give you a lot of knowledge.

Just choose the method you feel comfortable with and start..

Best of luck.. :-)

First things first, research, research, research. Learn from people who've made it. Don't procrastinate and don't be too lax. Know what you want and focus on it. It's best if you start with social media. You can generate a lot of traffic there. Best of luck to you!

actually its good for you that u r good in music. now you can make a website with real content. i m bad at anything so i just troll people into downloading my files

yes a lot of us use wordpress because its easy and if you master it you will easily seo your blog (including editing theme files) in the future.

did you consider making a website with both your songs to play online + your blog about making music (tips etc?) then you install adsense on it.

you can also get some views from soundcloud, facebook, twitter and fanbase

Keep in mind, that Udemy courses cost never more than $15-$20 and sometimes $10, you just need to look for the coupon for that month.

You can find many of them also here https://www.blackhatworld.com/forums/member-downloads.29/ go check the first 5 pages or so.
