Perhaps Google think if people can't sell viagra through Google search any more, than spammers will stop spamming viagra links...
To be honest I dont check. My articles/blog posts are normally rather small, but all hand written. Off and on site. Probably 200-400 words, with a picture and or a video in them...then with a few keywords that normally repeat a few times. h1 tags, title etc and its own pretty url all pertaining to a specific keyword. Some bolding sometimes, anchored links and call to action.
Going to check my one site that failed....a not yet popular forum. Not sure if it fell back on the 24th update or not...havent monitored. But lost a good 20 spots on the few major keywords i was targeting.
I did some fiverr gigs...totally legit site all well written and long winded articles....with some straight up jacking of wikipedia info on a few pages..interesting to see if those same gigs did anything to them....

So yeah, he's not lucky... he's just using the 301 redirect method I talked about in my thread about how to scam google. Google is stupid, and penguin has made 301 redirects the new way to rape niches for 1-2 months and make hundreds of thousands/mth without much work.

One of my main sites came back to #4 (earlier was #2) a couple of days ago. It came back to the first five spots for all the six keywords that I'm targeting. From then, it's shuffling around between 4 and 15 for almost all keywords. The first three spots are *still* taken by no-content, horrible sites and they don't seem to budge.
A couple of my sites got hit today as well...
Is anyone noticing that random internal pages are now ranking instead of the main page? Out of 50 keywords the front page is now only ranking for 4 of them and the rest are random inner pages that were never supposed to rank.
Even the inner pages don't make sense. For example was ranking #1 for "blah blah loans" with a page about blah blah loans. Now a random other page that only mentions blah blah loans once is ranking for it.
If I ever see a penguin I'm going to snap it's beak off.
