OK, thought this might help you guys...
I have around 130 SEO clients and checked each and any client's rankings - from all these ONLY 3 dropped like flies, which is quite a good ratio lol.
What I do:
- first 1-2 months: ONLY web directories/social bookmarks (but doing it slow and steadily)
- depending on how/if they move I started using web 2.0s, article marketing, some private networks blog posts
- I NEVER stopped building links using wd/sb, this is continuous to ensure a stable link growth
- anchor variation: I used brand names for few links, nothing special; however, I am using about 7-10 anchors/client
- deep linking: the clients that dropped had links pointing only to their homepage, the rest have inner links as well (including to about us page with anchor such as "about brand name")
I am still under paranoia but getting over these 2 days is looking good. I think velocity/anchor diversity plaid a huge role here. No SB/Xrumer directly to websites. Steady link building.
Hope it helps.
