Over Optimization Penalty Launched Today

Until I find a better use for it, my VPS is now gonna run 24/7 on Matt Cunts blog. kw p$rn.

Feel free to join in. Vary the kw a bit if you like. I heard Matt likes a bit of kw variation.

Awesome idea!!!

You should also use anchor text "Fire Matt Cutts" and "Google Sucks, Use Bing".

Lmao

Someone should hack Google and redirect it to Bing. I am sure Bing is loving this. Imo, their results are a lot better, just wish they had more volume. Maybe they will after this.

This is beginning to remind me of the stock market. Random up and down movements and people wanting to give reasons for the random movements.

Maybe the assumption that Google knows what they are doing is wrong.

Brilliant analogy, except I think Google knows exactly what they are doing. I am sure that Google hires economists to explain the way that the modern financial markets work. I had a brief stint as a trader and this is what I learned:

Almost everything in the stock market that is supposed to add security (like options and futures) eventually add more volatility to the market when people start to game the system. Ironically, the effect of this is actually to force people into buying options and futures. Because of the big trading cowboys, it's basically a racket at this point, because without them, price fluctuations would be far more stable.

You can see how this is similar to Google. They are the cowboys that want to make things more and more volatile so that the little soybean growers are forced into buying soybean options, aka adsense ads.

My traffic is way up over the last two days. I'm not complaining. All you algo-chasers should have been building your shit natural and building your shit different all this time. :D

I like Zebrath's point, I mean are they going to do this too the Big boys to who pay them a chunk in advertizing and do web-spam also. Is this really a fair game or are they just going to hit the little webmasters. Well what ever they do it will be based on some algorithm...great opportunity for someone to study it and write another SEO Ebook.

And Autumn is right, even though we do automation we have to use our automation to our advantage and interject a huge amount of randomness to remain sustainable.

Most of my sites took a big hit too. Some keywords dropped few spots, some few pages, some are nowhere to be found. And now i am dominating 1st page with my 1st tier WEB 2.0 properties. Which is useless unreadable spun s**t that makes no sense.

#5 tripod.com
#6 weebly.com
#8 webs.com
#9 wikispaces.com
#10 tumblr.com
#12 wordpress.com
#13 livejournal.com
#14 insanejournal.com
#15 my money site

And this is not only in 1 niche. But in a few. Competition is medium hard.

There is no doubt that they will be rolling back the recent algorithm update.

The front page is a disaster for a TON of keywords, as pointed out in this thread. Its nearly like they are rolling out different algorithms and seeing what sticks. I've never seen the big G be so sloppy as over the past few months.

Most of my garbage, low quality, spam testing domains have skyrocketed. We are talking about sites with nothing but pure BH linkbuilding.

I just got back from a trip and will begin to analyze SERP rankings further....

Two websites targeting the same keyword:

1. website: 10k in SEO investments, first at #1 now gone
2. website: Domain with a picture, NO CONTENT AT ALL, one backlink: #4

:D

its kinda logical that this update will be rolled back or hardly tweaked

Similar experiences, though I def didn't waste $10k seoing even my most profitable sites.

looks like the dust is settling, my authority site is back on page 1 with hp and amazon where it belongs :)
i was all kinds of worried for a moment there, but it looks like my network wide blogroll shift fixed it
