FFS this has hit my main legitimate business website! Was #1 in google for nearly 2 years for main keyword and #2 for main keywords. Now #68 for main keyword and others just dissapeared into oblivion. Never spammed the site, had good original content and any link building was manual apart from directory listings.
Google now returns a list of sub standard companies in my industry where I know customers will get poor service.
Well done Google you really fucked this one up!

It is much easier to earn $500 doing Seo than with daily job. Also there are countries in which you cannot earn that much on your 9-5 job.

I've seen people here in the UK earn around that much in a year but they still continue doing IM. It's because they have hope and they believe in themselves.
A 9-5 job for some people is just not their thing, regardless of the wage and salary.
My motto - if you love something, just carry on doing it. You'l be a pro at it in no time.
Yup I've read every comment on every thread here, on the original Google publication, at search engine land and beyond.
Never, have I seen an update cause this much of a shit storm. There are very very few people happy about this update.
It almost seems like it's a mistake, or another bugged update that will need to be rolled back or patched.
One of my sites tanked today going from #4 to #68 - and I am sure it is because of what Google are seeing as 'Keyword' stuffing. My front page has a 200 word summary with a very high-keyword density. This isn't due to me purposefully stuffing the page, but rather due to the nature of the niche. (For example trying writing a 200 word summary about PCs without using the words; computer, laptop, Internet, screen, monitor, etc.) I think some of the sites that have been hit today, have been due to the new algorithm giving false positives for this.

it has only 1 web2.0 that was built for it, and there was no backlinking campaign to that web2
it's authority comes from d0follow comments in places that i know google will not ever blacklist (think famous high energy physics labs)

I think a lot of these sites (like the one without a completed title) that don't deserve to rise in SERPs are not actualy rising, they just aren't being penalised like the ones above it. If your crappy site was 21st and had no backlinks and hence didn't get penalised it will be number 1 after the 20 sites above you get penalised. It doesn't mean you did anything right, it just means you didn't do anything wrong. I really think a lot of these sites will be back in a day or so, it's exactly what happened after the one last week. There's some sort of manual/semi-manual review that's going on and some of them will be back. I also don't think this is the time to make major changes to your site. If Google sees a huge change to your site's structure or backlink methods imediately after this algo change, you could stay there permanently. It could look like you're trying to game the SERPs.

This site exists in 10 different version (languages) separated by sub-folders, all with unique non-spammy content and optimized to a very high standard. What is bizarre here is that the same methods of SEO have been used to promote all other versions of the website, yet only the UK version (which targets the .co.uk engines) is effected by this update.
The only major difference between the UK version and the others is that the UK version is the top-level domain.
Ahh well, I guess I'll be putting things on hold for the next few days. Lets see how things transpire.

I see your point. However, that blogspot blog with an incomplete title should still not rank at #1. There are 1.9Billion results for make money online. Surely, there has to be better stuff that would have moved up to replace sites that have been penalized.
